  1. Kudos to you and your team. The years of giving great fishing reports when most don't take the time or remain tight-lipped for some unfounded reason. The good mojo has paid you back. Nice work.
  2. You have to look at the time the last data was taken from. If you check too early in the morning, sometimes the buoy data has not been updated. Usually the buoy data gives the most accurate info up-to-date. I don't trust forecasters when it comes to wave height.
  3. Great fish....come up from the depths with moss on it's gills.
  4. I have often wondered how much poop would a 34 lb greaser leave on the floor of the boat? Cool layout of the mount....splayed fins and back hump look cool.
  5. Buoy showing the winds amping up again. Warmest water Wilson to 4 mile.
  6. Happens every spring. Last year it was much earlier. Could be a spawn thing. Could be a cold water thing.
  7. 10-15 knot winds from the NW means 3-5' waves NOT 1-3' that NOAA always posts.
  8. Micromanagement minute: Take the little lady to Barton Hill Spa in Lewiston for the night. Schedule a massage for the morning.
  9. 30 Lb Fireline Original Fused - Smoke color. Almost flea-proof
  10. Micromanagement minute.....just checked the temp transects page on NOAA, and you are correct in your assumption about the warm water blowing out. Looks like you need to be out in the middle near the fence due north of Wilson to catch up to warm water.
  11. Micromanagement update: Nick there is a large cell moving north of the lake....shouldn't hit you, but expect it to get the lake frothy.
  12. Hey nick, check the radar loop......some big rain with T-storms off Toronto heading your way.
  13. Ya screw the high lines......you are doing great on the deep bite. Looks like the green water came back overnight. What the NE gods taketh....the mighty Niagara giveth back!!
  14. Get the boards out and try high lines around that debris field. Surface lines and leadcore with spoons. Try an orange 6" spinny with a coho fly 50' back and 10' down on a rigger.
  15. I think it is called the Water Street Side Bar......down overlooking the lewiston launch. The wanton shrimp are worth the drive to Lewiston.
  16. Just got back in. Strong NE winds has blown clear cold water in. Tommorow head west out of port and fish closer to the Niagara.
  17. Fishing is on fire right now. Good timing.
  18. PM Mike aka "landshark" on this site as he likes to head up there.
  19. Probably need to drive into Buffalo.
  20. So you are saying you didn't "mop" them up eh?
  21. East winds for a week can make for finicky fish. Come back a little later in the month when the wind is out of the west or SW on the lake.
  22. So the mentoring has continued with my 13 year old nephew. Out into the wood we go saturday in the dark. NOTHING talked all day. At 6:30 with no dance partner and the kid nodding off in the blind I say ok, lets go make something happen. Dropping into a deep cut drainage, we get deep into the woods staying out of sight and sound. Coming out of the cut I begin a slow sneak (ya right..with a 13 year old who doesn't lace up his boots). Realizing the feet dragging going on behind me I figure I better make the noise sound like feeding birds. So on we slowly walk while I yelp with my push-peg box call. We settle down up against a big tree and I continue calling, alternating with two different sounding mouth calls and the push-peg. I soon hear rustling to my right and I see three gobblers tripping over each other to get to me. I ready the kid and explain what is going to happen. Below me is a hen that is moving our way......perfect set-up. The gobblers come in, see the hen, allowing the kid to move the gun into position, and I say ok shoot when you are ready. The birds are 20 yards away, and oblivious to the figety boy. I say again...time to shoot buddy. I hear him exhale and I wait for the bang.........buddy shoot........and the birds walked to 40 yards and I say nope, can't shoot now. We sat and watched a three jake display of strutting for 30 minutes just out of range. Wierd but not ONE vocalization by these birds. After the hen followed by the jakes fed around us and up to a winter wheat field and the coast was clear....I asked my nephew "why didn't you shoot?" His remark was "they kept bobbing their head"! LOL.
  23. Gizzard Shad. Dying after spawining. There are big Gizzards in Olcott for the last month dying in the harbor.
