  1. I have talked to Mike D. many times. Helped me out long time ago when he ran the royal coachmen. Sold me lots of fly tying equiptment. Unfortunately I haven't tied a fly in years, and just don't have alot of extra time to re learn it all. I found this site online that I ordered some from. http://store01.prostores.com/servlet/ma ... +Streamers
  2. Does anyone know of a local place that sells Streamer flies for trolling. The closer to Syracuse the better.
  3. Does anyone use this gun. I'm looking for some reviews that have personally used and tried it in the field.
  4. Haven't gotten any rainbows, but been killing the lakers. Not too big but still fun. Go straight out from the public launch to the middle of the lake, head north about 1000ft. .... turn around and troll south. tons of fish. Seen lots of bait in the 20-30 ft range
  5. thanks. I am usually fishing by myself so I only get 2 rods going. I'd would like to be in the right area at least.
  6. I agree with Ray. Lake O is great, but those days where you sit out there with the waves and catch nothing can be aggravating.
  7. How far of shore do you have to be to target steelhead. I'm fishing out of Oswego. Could someone guide me in the right direction
  8. I was thinking about some trips from 12-5 am. Has anyone gone out at these hours. I heard that it can be very productive for salmon, but it is a completely different game than fishing during daylight
  9. out in front of the nuke plant. Lots of bait, some fish. Still couldn't get them hooked on my lines though. Had a real nice one on Sat. afternoon. Took 200ft along with my glow frog spinny and sweetpea fly.
  10. I saw that on the way into the harbor tonight. Just the top few feet were out of the water. Oh yeah...SLOW bite for me tonight.
  11. Anyone use these on their setups. Looking for some reviews
  12. Otisco lake south of Syracuse has a decent amount of tiger muskies. ASlso a little hidden lake called lake Como, south of skaneateles lake has some tigers in it . It's also good for pickeral, pike and bass
  13. Sorry, should have clarified. I meant do you use it on the reels or is mono preferred. I use the power pro on all my other reels except my trolling reels.
  14. Does anyone run this on their rigger setups. If not what would you suggest
  15. How do you go about getting a captains license.
  16. I have never used a speed / temp probe. Do these need there own dedicated rigger
  17. Problem fixed. I shortened the boom so it didn't swing as much. After I set the release and let the weight go it would hit the water and the release would spin. Tried it out on skaneateles lake. We hit our limit of lakers yesterday. Got out on L O tonight for a few hours by myself. Went 0-2. I don't now which is worse.....not seeing fish, or hooking up just to watch them get away.
  18. Where is a good place for trophy sized walleyes on the big lake
  19. It happens on calm and rough days even on the fingerlakes which don't ever get real rough. I ran the sharks last year also with no problem. The only change I made this year was to use the blacks release and a different location for the riggers
  20. I run black sharks, so I don't think it is from the weight spinning. I think Big Dave hit the nail on the head. I might shorten the boom to 3ft so it is easier to drop the weight after the release has been set
  21. Thanks. This could be the problem as it happened yesterday also when I switched one back to the walker release
  22. I have mostly used walker releases in the past, but bought some new blacks this year. The issue I'm having is...about 50% of the time the line gets twisted around the rigger cable, like the release is not tracking straight. Any thoughts
