Nick & Hank all is well , just have lost all interest in fishing for now. This boat is set up for big water fishing not our small lakes out here. Top speed by GPS is 49 mph with 2 guys and all tackle., you can slow her down to 1/2 mph if need be with the trolling plate on 150 honda or use the kicker motor... Rides great in ruff water.

Nice compound fractured bow Ray! Use the elastic in yer speedo fer more arrow speed. Stand in waist deep water....attract fish with yer worm...shoot fast...don't miss...

Think I have tried every release on the market to date. But when it comes to fishing deep ( 150' ) below, can't beat the Blacks.  I for one hate to stack rods on the same rigger, There is just to many ways to get lines to depth and away from the boat today than thirty years ago.

At what surface speed ? 

At 4 mph surface speed, the copper will or should rise or it kills all the action 

Yes, you can run F/F on the copper.  Just be careful on your turns no matter what your lure choice, if you turn too sharp the line on the inside will sink due to the loss of speed, then you pick up zebra mussels or worse get hung up.  I wasn't paying close enough attention last weekend and came up with some zebra's. Luckily that was it.

It moves in a slow wiping actions the same as Laeadcore as it rises and sinks at slow speeds. Have someone go to the bow of your boat and let it out, while your at the fantail of the boat, you can watch it as it sinks to depth.  

Sounds like a heck of a day on the water Matt, especially for the young when the TUG is the drug of choice 

how do you hook up copper to planer lines using the copper to attach, not a leader?

All my copper rods are set up with Braid to 9' Mono to Copper to 25' leader

Speeding up prolly caused your copper to rise out of the strikezone that u were in when you were at the slower speed

I was thinking that as well as it just became a straight piece of copper line with no action. Our Mono lines only had one split shot 6' ahead of the spoons at the 4 mph surface speed
