Welcome home Captain! It will be a great year for fishing.
-
Does cocaine and the other drugs get cooked out of the meat, or are those drugs getting passed on to whoever eats the fish?
-
Rick,
Thanks for the quick shipping! Lure pads worked out Great! Really like the two sided ones for stick baits as they fit nice behind my seats. Even if I don't catch fish I got one pimped out rig
That's a great setup! Those lures are right there within easy sight and reach.

I'm still wondering what made them start testing salmon for drugs...
I can see it now, the Chik Filet billboards with salmon (instead of cows) painting "eat more chicken" ☺

Interesting article about contaminated salmon in Seattle Washington, and the suspected source is tainted wastewater discharges. The fish had elevated levels of Prozac, Advil, Benadryl, Lipitor and even cocaine, as well as many other drugs.
Even fish tested in the Nisqually estuary, which receives no direct municipal treatment-plant discharge, were contaminated.
I hope it's not happening in the Great Lakes!

Sent you a PM.

Thanks Darrell, I'll be watching and waiting.

Todd,
Yes the STR Probe is rechargeable.
Thanks Darrell! This might be all I can afford this year after we do our taxes. Any idea on the release date for the STR? I didn't see anything on the web site yet.
-
Will the STR probe be rechargeable like the other Smart Troll probes?

Selling a Fish Hawk TD used 3x it is in perfect working order. Asking $110 including shipping.
Do you still have the paperwork/instructions for it?
-
Draw me a sketch of what you want and I'll make it for you in my shop.
Where are you located? Aluminum? My Penn riggers have 4ft booms, and I only use 10lb weights. I'll try to draw a sketch this weekend. Thanks!

Thanks for the input Laker Taker. I trust a clamp on mount just enough to put a pair of mounting bolts through it and the side of the boat.
-
Thanks Pap & Firechief.
I haven't launched in Dexter since 2005, and I've only launched there 6-8 times. I remember how tricky it can be to find the river channel, especially down by the ruins just past the last island where it is over 30ft deep.
-
They don't dive well, what can tell just pitching out there maybe 4-10ft that's about 20ft behind the boat.
Thanks Pap, I don't want to snag the bottom if I drag one behind a board. They have a pretty deep scoop on the nose. It would also be good to know how much deeper it is running behind a rigger ball so its not running under the intended depth.
-
How deep do J Plugs run on a flatline or behind a board?
-
Thanks, the pics make it look wider than 8ft.
-
How much does she weigh and how wide is the beam?
-
I've used crawler harnesses (typically used for walleye) with a snap weight in 30-40 ft of water in Lake Huron for Coho salmon and they work great!
What time of year was that?
-
One has an extension the other is 4 foot fixed

I have an older Lowrance LMS 339 and it works great, but the SD card reader doesn't work, so I can't install the latest update.
I also have a Helix 5 DI GPS, 859ci HD DI GPS, and a Humminbird 698ci HD SI GPS. I prefer the Humminbird, but not by a large margin.
-
I never really understood why the top of the jplug is what is painted funky colors and the bottom is plain. I thought most fish look up and swim up to eat something and not the other way around.
Maybe they can't resist the rattle, no matter which direction they have to look
-
Believe it or not I got a decent smallmouth 60' down one day on J and another time a catfish down 30'. Not what I expected to see either time
That would surprise me too!
-
Try these Macks flash lites too for lakers and like Les mentioned above. Spoons flies or especially meat rigs will get either salmon or trout off the bottom.
Very cool, never seen these before.
