  1. axel ordered!!!! hopefully i`ll head up this weekend. Thanks for all the help guys.Of course i won`t be happy until i see her in my rearview! Thanks sol
  2. Thanks zach.....did`nt hear it and did`nt feel it.I can`t take time off so i`m having him do it.But if i can find the axel i`ll do that myself and maybe install new hubs with that depending on $$$.I get bearings from factory direct trailers and will carry extras from now on.I won`t be able to get back up there `til next wknd. sol
  3. Did`nt find any muskies but got 3 northerns on the upriver end of carelton.Wind was high and waves pretty good @times.Kept us from the iron man end and the featherbed and hinkley shoals.Upon arrival @ prescision marine i noticed my bearing missing from my trailer. We launched and fished while "cork"took a look.Axel(spindle)is damaged and we could not find bearings in the area.Ran down to clayton and chaumount.Thinks he may get bearing on to get it home but ultimately i will need an axel!!!(I`ve posted in classifieds for an axel). He`s gonna check around and price one if he can locate one.So ...with my boat in clayton and me 3hrs away and chautauqua coming in 2wks,well it`s just bad timeing. We`ll see how it goes.If i get it and it`s fixed i`ll be there with it.Otherwise gus(lee)has offered for us to join him which we`ll do- Nitro...thanks for your offer to bring parts ALL the way up for me-much appreciated. sol
  4. My boat is stuck up in clayton for now with a trailer in need of repair.Had a bearing go on my trailer and it gouged up my axel.luckily i was at prescision marina and "cork"was there working.Anyhow it is a 98'starcraft trailer for a 16'deep V.I`m not sure of the length of the axel right now but it is a u shaped tube with spindles welded on each end.1" & 1-1/4"bearings.I will get the length monday if needed. He will be pricing one for me but if i can find a used one my pocket will be much better off i`m sure.If he can`t get the bearing on i will need this to bring it home...3hrs away!! Thanks Bob
  5. I`ll be heading up to the clayton area next saturday the 18th in search of mr.musky, since i have never fished the river i was hoping a few of you can lessen my learning curve.I have planned on doing some trolling and drifting some red october tubes.I`ll be picking up my uncle from 3mile bay(he`s a snowbird,so he`ll be heading south soon!lol)and heading out around 8am from there for the day.Any help will be greatly appreciated.I have my ontario lisc but he does not so we``ll stay on this side. Thanks Bob Solley

  9. FYI...dale wiley makes a fine bait.Alot of work goes into them.I myself will be buying a couple headshakers and musky king jrs and adding them to my selection/collection of musky lures along with a few other proven baits(ie:Hi-fins ,legends etc) I might be down to waneta sometime over the weekend for 1/2 a day. Bob
  10. Mark did a great with handling and fighting them-i took on the chore of net boy!Although we did not get a girth he mentioned he would like to get a replica made. We`ll have to guess on that girth. Bob S
  11. Got out for a couple hrs late afternoon in the wind and rain.Stopped to pickup a guy(mark)that had gotten my # off our site and said he was coming to ny for vacation and staying on seneca lake.Asked where there were muskies...short story i offered to pick him up when he got here and did so sunday in the rain-lovely day.Gave`em my frog toggs and we hit the water.10minutes in (mind you his biggest and ONLY musky was caught in canada and was under 30"`s-he`s been going there for 3yrs haha-not anymore!!!)anyways after some where and how to`s i set out my newely aquired rockets and in the 10minutes from starting boated his big fattie of 45-1/4"WOW.Set back up and 30minutes or a little more from the same area popped a spitefull 38-1/2.Not bad for a guy from delaware!!!lol Needless to say he has alot to brag about to his buddies.Dropped him back off on my way home.He is one happy guy. Congrats Mark!! Bob S
  12. You are gonna have to make the drive for one. When you eventually hook into one releasing them is a favored method by most and by all whom wish to protect the species. Cya sol

  23. Hey zach...do you have a book deal in the making you autta be tired after that one ,you need a nap:lol: No ...the leadcore is for chautauqua and the st.larry and 5.5 is wrap to a slow poke like me.I`ve got plenty of deep divers to hit bottom at waneta but offering up my twitchbaits down there would be nice and yes the chrome does peel away especially when half of it was in its mouth. Cya Bob
