  1. If you like Sitka gear, check out www.pnumaoutdoors.com Half the price as Sitka and similar price to Kuiu. Lifetime guarantee and twice the vapor exchange rate as any brand on the market. Means less cold due to sweating. I bought the Selkirk all weather gear. Fantastic.
  2. Any handheld from Cabelas or Bass Pro will work fine. I paid $79 for mine. Works well.
  3. Who cares where it lands on the board? Only thing that matters is what board/backing you want it mounted on! lol Congrats on fish of a lifetime!
  4. Eddies Cove just off of Sandy Pond has very good food and a bar. Just up the street from Sandy Pond Yacht Club(SPYC) Marina. Rt.15 to get there. Look for sign with a turtle on it!
  5. Thanks guys! Just received an order from Bob and they look great. Think I did well with picking up a few goby colors, Herganator and any with brown or orange for the browns. I also picked up a few mags for salmon. KOS, Albino Frog, etc. Appreciate the help!
  6. 100-125 ft behind planer boards. farther out to the side the farther back. shorter as you get closer to the boat. typical spread i use is 125, then 100 then 75 ft on downriggers. Fish in 8-15ft of water this time of year for browns. 15lb test is fine and add a flourocarbon leader last 8 ft. I run sticks(rapalas, smithwicks, etc) and spoons(nk's, michigan stingers, etc.) off the boards. Oswego is always a good bet this time of year. good luck.
  7. Couldn't get my 22' Bayliner through last year at the end of the season. Assuming it's the same now.
  8. Since this one is all white, why not add wife's name and white tuna! Ex.) Tara's White Tuna
  9. Heard good things about these spoons. Looking to place an order but not sure about species/color. My question is what are your 3 favorites for each species of browns, kings and lakers? Thanks for you help! Bob
  10. Hot lure should have said Pro Troll Echip Stingfish. Best color was chartreuse. Caught a few on gold too.
  11. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:The M ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):77/27-7/29 Time on Water:Mornings Weather/Temp:cloudy/sun Wind Speed/Direction:North to South Waves: 1to3 Surface Temp: 75 Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 30+ Total Boated:19 Species Breakdown:Lakers Hot Lure: Echip Pro Troll Trolling Speed: 1.8 to 2.2 Down Speed: Boat Depth:80 to 150 Lure Depth: 40 to 150 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Started out fishing for kings/browns. Nothing doing and grumbling on radio so switch everything to laker rigs as I had 3 kids and the gf who wanted to catch fish, not take a boat ride. Left one pole out with a dipsey and flasher/fly for kings. Caught 3 around 13 lbs and averaged around 9 lbs. Ironically, two of the big lakers caught on flasher/fly pole. Kids had a blast! Kings will be here soon and I'll be up week of Labor Day to catch em! Good luck everyone. ====================
  12. I posted a similar thread about dipseys a few years back. The best (and overwhelmingly popular) answer was that any color will work as long as it's black!!!
  13. How about an address or phone # for the guys on the forum who don't know Tuna Tom? I'm sure he'd appreciate the free advertising and the extra business.
  14. Try using a smaller sized bullet. I shoot a .45 cal with 100 grains and powerbelt 195 grains. Shoots like a 30/06 at 100 yards. 3 inch groups Most shots in NJ are well under 100 yds so having mag charges and super sized bullets is unnecessary for whitetails. Good luck! Bob
  15. My setup was a 115 HP Mariner and it finally blew up this summer! After 19 yrs it's done! It looks like the new four strokes are what people are leaning to. Does anyone have a Mercury 4 stroke they like? Does the ethanol fuel mess up the 4stroke? Never had a problem with fuel with the 2 stroke. Appreciate the feedback as before. Thanks again! Bob
