At what temp do the browns start moving out deeper? Last weekend we were still catching them in as little as 6 fow. As they start to move deeper what do you look for to locate them and what techniques would be effective? Thanks

I have fished Lake Erie my whole life, just started fishing Ontario last spring. I usually try to go when winds are very light or out of the South/Southwest because I only have a small 16 foot aluminum and like to play it safe. With north winds from 10-15 with occasional higher gusts like this morning I'm thinking solid two footers. Is that about right? I can look at the wind and direction for Erie and take a pretty good guess for wave height depending on speed and direction but I know each lake is different and Im not sure about Ontario. Was supposed to take my brother up for the first time today but called it becuase of the North winds and they're calling for 1-3's.

Looking at the 7'6" ML Accudepth for spring browns and Erie walleye. Anybody have any experience with these? How might it compare to the Heartlands?

Would have been a nice day for a hardtop... Fished 7-12 fow, nice color to the water. Had about twenty hits and landed 16 or 17 fish. This included a nice laker and a steelhead. Biggest brown was 10.4, my biggest so far up on the lake. I feel like I'm starting to get a hang of the shoreline thing a bit. Couldn't keep my three rods in the water very long. Despite being 39 degrees I actually started to get warm from moving around so much, gotta love it.

Still looking for small used LC's. Dont have a lot of money to spend, looking for a pair. Thanks

Do any of you guys remove the front hook on your stick baits. Most of my sticks have two hooks and front hook will occasionally get caught in the fish as well which causes them to spin and pop off. I was thinking about removing the front hook and leaving the rear. Any thoughts?

Anybody use X Raps for spring browns. Was using one the other day and got broke off. Thinking of ordering a few more, was it just a fluke? Seems to me like just about any stickbait would be effective.

Thanks for the reports guys, we made it out Saturday morning and went 9-11. Still kinda new to this program and lesson learned about putting a mix of sticks out to see what they want. We washed kabooms for three hours with one fish and one miss. Switched over to f9 rapalas and started getting fish. We also found some slighly warmer water and that seemed to do the trick. All cookie cutters.

Any updates on water conditions? Bait shop in Olcott said green and milky...hope they're right.

If anybody gets a look at the shoreline from Olcott to Point Breeze can you please let me know of the water conditions/color or send me a PM. I really want to give it a shot this weekend but dont want to make the long drive to find clear water and very tough fishing conditions. Any info is much appreciated. Satellite imagery only shows so much and unfortunately I don't know anybody who lives up that way. Thanks
