  1. I'm assuming you're talking Burt Dam. In terms of accessing the creek for wading there is only one access point at Fishermans Park. If you're not fans of crowds I would suggest you stick to the Salmon River. Not trying to be a jerk but there's a reason the place is more commonly referred to the the zoo or the circus. I live 45 minutes away and won't go here. Don't worry about trying to find honey holes, there will be an angler every 15-20 feet or so as the crowds are starting to thin out a bit. If you want some solitude, fish the frog water.
  2. No lol. Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. Will post results if its a go.
  3. Hopefully the lake forecast will hold, light south winds. As much as I love fishing for erie perch the excellent walleye fishing has the freezer filled up with about 35 lbs of fillets. Can anybody recommend spoon colors for steelhead and trolling speed? I don't have j plugs for trying in tight so I was thinking to pull some bombers or reef runners for an hour first light. A nice hen would make my day.
  4. No probe for me so finding temp is not possible
  5. Have the temps straightened out since Monday?
  6. I will depend on the weather, I have a small boat but very comfortable on big water.
  7. OK, thought there might be some salmon and browns around the piers as I have heard the fish aren't to heavy in the creek yet. Hoping I might pick up a hen first light before heading out, need eggs for steelhead season.
  8. With the long weekend coming up I'd really like to get out fishing at least once this weekend. Haven't fished in over a month. Thinking of trying out of Olcott, staying in tight early trolling plugs then maybe heading out a little deeper as the sun comes up. Any insight or info? Relatively new to Lake Ontario.
  9. Thinking of heading to Olcott tomorrow, not targeting mature kings around the piers but heading out a little deeper or looking for browns. Anybody have any recent info?
  10. Sorry guys, sold a while back
  11. Reid's hot dog stand. Classic roadside dive with cheap eats and good shakes south on 78 just coming out of Lockport.
  12. Couldn't even tell you how many I caught last Friday. Gave up on meat and power trolled with sticks, didn't help matters. Some of the silvers were the same size as the sticks I was trolling.
  13. Anybody have one of these laying around. Or another cannon manual rigger?
  14. Looking for a black Cannon Econo-Rigger. Mine somehow ended up on the bottom of Lake Ontario this weekend as I was lowering the ball down. Still not sure how the heck it happened. Let me know.
  15. Went east of Olcott to get away from the traffic towards somerset in hopes of getting a brown program going. Worked 40-120 without a single brown trout bite. 3 shaker kings and a nice 7 pound domestic. The domestic had 28 gobies in its stomach, just crazy. Just couldn't find the browns. Didn't mark much in the way of fish or bait. Left me puzzled.
  16. Off somerset ghost town. One shaker one bow. 60-240.
  17. What are the temps like from Olcott to the Oak? Was thinking of fishing browns in the morning. Did the strong NE wind this morning screw things up again? Browns or walleye... Decisions to make.
  18. What were temps like? Was going to target browns in the morning.
  19. I will be out I the morning running a brown program. Hopefully we will get a few.
  20. Gotcha. I don't have speed temp either so I usually just look for bait and hooks near bottom.
  21. Nice. I may try running a brown program later this week. Small boat guy as well. Any idea what the temp was down in 50?
  22. Yep, as rule of thumb it's 2 up 2 down. Whatever the buoy says I double it. Also there's a motion sickness chewable called bonine. Works pretty well and is non drowsy for someone without sea legs.
  23. Has the temp straightened out at all? Hoping to try later this week.
