  1. Spoon feed em'... Stingers, superslims, NK's. I'm no expert either but if you can find bait in tight the browns wont be far away.
  2. Captain Larry, I was out of Barcelona solo. Couple waterspouts north towards brocton. One was huge. Looked like a smokestack. Saw a couple others as well plus a few that tried developing. They didn't forecast that! As for the fishing I boxed 4. Sounds better than most did. First time I fished west of sturgeon this year. I think I will stick to the east end. Tough bite. I found an active school in 75 fow just west of the harbor.
  3. Are we talking the 3 3/8" flutter spoons for steelhead?
  4. Last week off Wilson the fleas were nonexistent. This week they were awful. I was running 20 lb. big game on my rigger rods and 30 lb. power pro on dipsy rods. The power pro was really bad. 3 ft of fleas to pick off. The fleas weren't as bad in tight as they were out deeper. From what I have heard I should up the rigger rods to 30 lb. How about dipsy's? How would they run with the 30 lb. big game as well? I run braid since I mostly fish for walleye but was thinking spooling up another reel with 30 lb big game for a dipsy setup. I'm just concerned about the stretch. Also, will the fleas be around the rest of summer? Thanks.
  5. Walleye slowed down? The bite has been just silly! I'm considering lake o in the morning as well but that's just to give the eyes a break. Off the Oak I'm hearing straight out and to the west 350+.
  6. Did well on steelhead last Tuesday out of Wilson but it doesn't sound like that's what your looking for. Sounds like a decent bite off the oak. Jigstick, you talking about the school of eyes west between Barcelona and Dunkirk?
  7. Yeah, I always double what the buoy says and that gives you a very good idea of what the lake is like. It says 1.0, lake is solid 2's.
  8. The one off Port Colborne http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=45142
  9. There are plenty of online tools available to have an idea of what the lake is like. I checked the weather buoy at 5 am and rolled back over.
  10. Are you going tomorrow? Or in two weeks? I'm no expert on lake o like many others on this site but conditions change rapidly. Did well on steelhead Tuesday in 400 fow.
  11. Check the walleye thread to. Bite isn't as hot as it was a few weeks back.
  12. That's ideal bt temp. If there's bait balls on the bottom they will be there.
  13. Were you marking many fish or bait near bottom?
  14. How far offshore if you don't mind me asking?
  15. http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=45142 Just remember to double the wave height so u get a better idea of trough to crest. Also pay attention to wave period. 1.0 with a 2 second wave period is a pretty healthy chop. 1.0 with 5 second interval is a slow roll leftover from the last blow.
  16. Whenever the lake allows it
  17. Anybody been out of Wilson lately?
  18. I heard its still setting up but haven't been up to see myself.
  19. That's when we decided to head in as it was getting a bit bumpy for my 16 footer.
  20. Although I will check it out, I'm all about supporting my local tackle shops that cater to our fisheries. Tough business to be successful in and I hope they can stick around once cabelas opens. I haven't bought tackle at gander or dicks in years
  21. Bleeding out the bigger ones seems to help as well. However with how the fishing has been its predominantly 17-20 inchers going in my cooler.
  22. I couldn't believe it. Especially in a high traffic area with lots of boats around.
  23. We had another good day today. Fish are spreading out but still plenty there. Best part of the day was a guy fishing solo in a sylvan running 8 rods!!! I hope the dec catches up to him. That's ridiculous.
  24. That's why I like to get away from the crowd. We had a great day Sunday as well. Not another boat within a couple miles of us.
