  1. Started out on Lake Ontario and from the shore the Lake looked nice and calm. Not. As the morning went on it really started kicking up. we have a 17.5 Starcraft Superfisherman and it does pretty good but as the waves were starting to reach 3' we decided to go in. Got a couple of knock offs, but other than that no luck. So i have decided to fish until we actually catch something this fall. Went out as far as 130' and the down temp was 69 at 75'. Better luck next time.
  2. Yes, I am talking about Lake Ontario. I thought they might be something to use. So you think it's the wrong time of the year for Yellow Birds? Or maybe i should look into leadcore? Anyway, thanks for the advice!
  3. Went down into the basement for my dads' yellow bird in line boards. I would like to try them, My question is do you use a diving stick bait? or a spoon with a split shot. This is for fishing in June/July out in deeper water. I just need some information on how to best do this. Thanks.
  4. Thanks! I am out of town this weekend and will get back to you on the reel.

  7. I just saw where there was a large Alwive die off Near Pultneyville. In two of our browns there were dead alwives in their stomach. which might account for the rotten fishing lately
  8. went out this morning out of Bear Creek. went west of Ginna in 13 to 15ft of water. Planer boards and down riggers. had a great morning with 5 browns 1 coho and 3 knock offs!. Monkey puke and black and gold broken stick baits. FUN!
  9. thanks for the reply, if we are lucky the next few days I will post.
  10. did you use planer boards or downriggers? I myself wonder if you should use planner boards in deeper water?
  11. we fished shallow water nothing then went out in front of the plant and saw nothing. we tried a lot of stuff but nothing. We went to fowlers afterwards to get a part for our boat and I talked to a nice charter boat captain out there and he said "the south wind blew all the good water out to the lake and it was to clear for the browns". which is good to know. But I have a cousin coming out on Monday and Tuesday to fish. And am thinking? Is it to late to fish browns? should we just go out to deeper water? You guys here are all pros it would be wonderful to have that magic pill. But fishing the lake there is no magic pill. It's just better being on the boat than housecleaning!!

  14. I hunt in Ontario and Wolcott and just about every time I come out of the woods there is a tick on me or my clothing. Gack, I was under the impression that a hard frost, which we had, would get rid of them. I guess not. Any thoughts on how to be Tick free? Maisie
  15. Thanks, this was our thinking but wondered if anyone had any very creative thoughts. We will likely temporarily rent a dock
  16. After bringing in our boat from a fishing trip we noticed one of the bunks on our trailer was sideways. It seems like we need to replace these. any ideas as to where or how. we were thinking of finding a place to dock the boat for a few days and then fixing the boat trailer after wards.
  17. went out of Bear Creek last night to try and find a few fish. None, Like where oh where are they? But I do have some really clean lures.
