  1. we floated out about mid morning from Pulneyville and it was really rockin' out there, so we turned around. no fun to fish in that maisie
  2. We have two walker Downriggers, electric on our boat. we asked an experienced fisherman on how heavy our downrigger weights should be. He said 15lb. So we went to Screwy Louies and bought two torpedo shaped weights. The problem now is that the swivel that attaches to the weight below the release is starting to stretch out of shape? Which is a bit worrysome. So did we do wrong? or should we just replace the swivel? or replace the weights with something lighter? Thanks for any input. Maisie
  3. my family will be camping at sampson state park the first week in August. can anyone recommend a good charter boat ccaptain on Seneca lake. we would like to fish for Lake Trout thanks Maisie
  4. It never ceases to amaze me on all the information i glean from this site. I always wondered whyit was so hard to find fish off Bear Creek. Still seeing the big boats going by. Now i know. I wonder if Sodus would be a better place to fish.
  5. do you think we could get the town to add buoy's along the outlet so boaters don't have to worry a bout the rocks so much?

  7. got a new to us boat 21 ft seafox.wa want to install two single planer board masts. we were considering using the most forward rod holders built into the boat putting a gimble mount in them and attaching the mast to that so we wouldn't have to put holes in the sides. does this sound OK? six foot mast? any comments would be appreciated thanks Maisie
  8. am interest in buying two single planer board masts. thanks Maisie
  9. We will be getting a Sea Fox Walkaround boat in a few weeks. and would like some advice on the best way to put planer board masts on the boat. Where to buy them. and what make. thanks alot. Maisie
  10. We have for sale this 17ft Starcraft. we are the second owner. it comes with a 75 Mercury Outboard with a trolling plate. 2 stroke. It also has a 4hp Mercury 4 stroke kicker, three years old. It has a Lowrance bought in "09 LMS-522 fishfinder/GPS. There is a planer board mast also included in the package we bought this at B & E fishing tackle. It comes with a Starcraft boat trailer. As you can see in the pictures it has a bimini top. Another top and a cover for storing. We have used this Boat on Lake Ontario and have trailered it to Seneca Lake. It is a very nice boat. We are asking 6,000.00 as it has alot of new, nice equipment on it. Also it comes with two downriggers,Proos. the downriggers are older, but they are functional. We have bought a bigger boat, so this one has to go. I hope these are enough pictures. I know we don't have a photo of the planer board mast. we can take a photo of that if you wish. [ l]

I have alot of vines and poison ivy. so, whre do i buy these seeds? I think the deer just pass thru. i need to have a reason for them to stay. maisie

  14. Hello All, and Happy New Year. I have 25 acres of shade. i need to put in some food plots. i was wondering if any of our friends out there know of any good seed i could plant that would do well in shade? Thanks Maisie
  15. Did anyone see the paper this morning. In the letters to the editor section was a disturbing letter about hunters leaving carcasses on property they had permission to hunt. I was just thinking this is a good year, no anti-hunting letters to the editor. It made me sad to read it. but i guess in any sport there are slobs.
  16. I have a rifled barrel on my 20ga 870. it is a youth model as i am a lady and it just fits better. I shoot lightfield sabots. So i went to Beikirch gun store. they have been helping me with this and must say they are really nice, and knowledgeable. When i showed the people there how my gun was shooting they called an expert marksman to help me. They bore sighted the scope and then put the scope down to factory zero and we tried all over again. They said that the scope was acting fine on the bench. we went to a shooting range and within 9 bullets had it dead on. I shot it and it was wonderful. I am not going to clean it until after hunting season because that seemed to affect the shooting. the Marksman also said that this type of scope has discs that rotate unstead of the usual clicks you get when you sight in a scope. and with these discs you go past the number you want then back off to the number. LIke you want to go from 3 to 4 you go past 4 then back off to three. He said this sighting problem wasn't my fault. And that the scope is fine. It seems fine, i'm not going to pull the trigger again until i see a deer. thanks for the interest. My husband and son don't really trust it scope. i guess time will tell.
  17. thanks for all your input. The ring size is corrrect as i had it mounted at a gun shop. the gun is a Remington 870 20ga i've tried everything. i'm going back to the gun store tomorrow. they are very helpful. i will probably return the scope and put another on fur hunting. what a pain. maisie
  18. Has anyone ever had a problem with a Leupold scope? I have VX-I 2-7x33. Every time i shoot it is different. and yes i clean the gun. I took it to be bore sighted. Thought i had it fixed, shot well. and decided to tweak it. it dropped six inches and no matter how i adjusted the scope it stayed in the same spot. No, it's not me. i hit the same hole twice. i'm shooting on a rest. I think i need a new scope. but not a Leupold. This is probably the wrong forum. but there ya go Maisie
  19. My family and myself will be at sampon this coming weekend on. Love to fish Seneca, how do you manage trolling with all those weeds? any tricks of the trade? thanks
  20. OK. so now i'm showing my dumbness. you don't use a fishing pole. right? you attach the twin minnow to the steel line and when you catch a fish you just reel it in? thanks maisie
