  1. Yes, i can understand why people in the tournaments wouldn't want to share their sweet spot. But i think it's been this way all year. I could be wrong. Just my opinion.
  2. I have noticed this year that there doesn't seem to be as many fishing reports on this site on how we did, where we fished, what we caught them on. Does that mean that there are no fish to be taken in the Lake, and Is fishing gotten so bad that no one is catching? Are people being more quiet on where they fish and what they get their fish on? Or are we dwindling in numbers and just don't want to share? Brown trout fishing wasn't the greatest this spring. Out in the eastern part of the lake people who do post never seem to catch anything. Out West it is better from the scant reports we get. Just wondering................
  3. Started out at 7:00am to a nice calm lake. Tried to fish for Brown's using our planer boards, no luck. Saw alot of boats coming from the East trolling the shore, i don't think they had any luck also. They all went West and we never saw them again. We pulled up and went to 115ft of water trolling west for Lakers, the other side of Ginna, we were much more lucky and boated 6 nice ones. We used silver with green stripe cowbells with a spin n glow and Moonshine moonbells Atomic Melon dragging a Spin and Glow. Most of the bite came on the cowbells. I was wondering does anyone have any luck with spring Browns anymore or is it over? All in all a nice morning on the lake

  5. did everyone see the nice article on the opening day of gun season in this morning paper? Maybe they listened to us.
  6. I have enjoyed reading everyone's posts on how they have done this past season. Has anyone noticed the sports page at the Democrat and Chronicle? I only read the outdoors page. On opening day of bow season there was an article on how women run thru Harriet Hollister park in the yoga clothes and yesterday there was an article on people running thru the city streets? I don't like to be critical but it seems like the writer might have missed the mark on this. I do miss the days with Floyd King would write about nature etc. which is what outdoors is. So, time does march on, and attitudes change giving rise to another reason for me not to read the sports page.
  7. where were you fishing? bait? how deep?
  8. where were you fishing? bait? how deep?
  9. Thanks for the information Guys. I think i might take the boat somewhere where i can get the compression done by a "professional" and see what's what. Maisie
  10. I have a circa 2000 75hp Mercury 2 stroke engine. I have tested the compression and it is approximately 82 and 85. I have tried to find information as to what would be the correct compression for this outboard to no avail. I was wondering if any of you would happen to know this? Starts good, but smokes and runs rough. any ideas? thanks for any input
  11. It seems like the fishing is really poor now, went out last night from Bear Creek and nothing also. LIke you said a nice night on the boat
  12. two short armed manual downriggers. They have counters on them. 585 330 6707 $20.00 each.
  13. Oh and the water is really low there like 2ft going out so better watch out
  14. Got out to the dock at around 6ish. the launch at Bear Creek only one side was open. Went out to the East and found alot of skippies (?) the favorite was black/gold and black silver stick baits. After around 9 it seemed like there was a few boats out in maybe 30 to 40 ft of water so we decided to check it our and found nothing. so went back in close to shore and found another nice brown. That was it as it was close to 11. speed was around 1.8 to 2.5. Nice first time out.
  15. thanks for the update on Mikes. I will call. The outboard is a 2000 and a 3 cylinder, it is belching smoke, running rough and where the gear shift shaft goes into the lower unit, water comes out? is it supposed to do that?
  16. Hello All; I need someone to look at my older 75hp Mercury outboard. I am on the East side. But can travel. Mike's marine used to be nearby, but i think he might be closed. I know you guys are on top of these things and have been helpful to me in the past. Thanks Maisie
  17. Wow, I am really surprised on the amount of chatter this post got. All well and good, i guess i won't be going to the Cornell Plantation anytime soon.
  18. Thanks Bigfoot, so now the truth comes out. They should just continue killing deer the hard way. with their cars.
  19. I tend to agree with all of your rant BSmaster. I am especially NOT fond of gangs of bicyclists on the road them with their goofy outfits. I kinda figured that this was the case as it it so close to a college town. I guess i am willing to just let the deer eat them out of house and home. I wonder what happens to a deer that eats pot?
  20. I saw in this mornings DemocratandChronicle about how deer hunters can enroll in Cornell Program. I see that the number of hunters had decreased from the year before and that when looking at the take it wasn't very large. I was wondering if any of our members had any information on this program, and if they would be willing to share
  21. thanks for the reply. I see you set the lines back 50ft. I always did around 25. i guess that's wrong?
  22. went out this morning from Bear Creek. Very rough in a small boat.
