  1. Thanks PD BOUY! You are so correct ! I can tell you I have over $20,000 invested since I bought her! Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Just my .02$ A 300 & 400 would get you 60 & 80 ft down. A 400 with some added weight like dive bombs will get you the depth you need this time of year if your targeting kings. 500 & 600 CP set ups will set you back some $$ ...but being versitle helps. I have been running a 500 & a 400 with 4oz dive bomb the last few weeks & taking plenty of kings. but temp is down deeper. back in july when temp was higher a 300 & 400 was the ticket... many variables! Good luck!

  8. Been working the 220-300 fow area pretty steady lately. Attention to detail critical after the weekend blow. Small pockets of water holding fish when you find temp. Went 2 for 3 in the last hour Monday night with a 8 lb jack & a 22lb major. 310 dipsie took a wicked rip & can unbuttoned. went 4 for 6 till noon yesterday. 1 on 500 copper..1 on 320 dipsie & two on rigger parked at 110. White chip with pro am glow on the riggers...hammer Spinny & white greendot on the long lines. All fish came in a quarter mile area if that tells you any thing! Tried for browns in shallow... picked up a few small mouth....temp was WAY warm. Back at it next week! Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  10. any stinger size or NK28 size spoon in brown or gobie pattern. also Chicken wing or green gator has worked. yesterday they wanted a copper back spoon more then silver...lots of gobies down there...put something down that they are seeing!
  11. we troll a bit faster, but use a fishhawk. 2.4-2.6 seems best. dont be afraid to zig zag & let the fish tell you which side they hit & what speed they want. Outside turn= faster...inseide slower. Agree with Gill-T...have dropped my speed at hook up & doubled...you never know!

  13. Totally agree on the Marine survey fellas. I have a deal in the works that i am exploring & once the boat is taken out of the water at the end of the season a survey will be done! I will be listing my contender tonight...stand by for full info!
  14. Got a late start Tuesday afternoon... once the lake laid down. Found temp out 220 ...down 80. Set three riggers & two dipys & a 400 CP. Riggers did well down about 95...dipy & 400 took one each . Ended up 7/10 in four hours with one brown in the bunch caught on a sliding cheater. Wed flat calm...got out about 6 am...first rigger isn't in 30 sec & bam! 24 pounder in the box....get the five rod spread out & port side rigger fires....nice fish..get him to the boat & the youngster at the rod had a bit of a struggle & he got around the wire....well you know the rest! Cut the leader & gone! Two more rips on the dipys out 270 with no buddy home....ugghh. then dead zone.. So about 10:00 we trolled in & picked up a 22lb major on the dipy over 145 & a 10lb brown on the 400 CP. Set in shallow between 75-95 for browns... popped one & dropped him.....10 min later starboard rigger pops & stays down...for like 10 min! ..Well low & behold our best brown to date comes to the net... bouncing the scale just shy of 20lbs!! Picked up a couple Brown's before calling it a day! Ended up 6 for 12. Here's a few pics! Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  16. I currently own a 245 Contender that has served me well....but is time to think about moving up. 18. Yup...fish last weekend from 290-350...all down 85 to 100...240-280 wire & 400 copper. Keep switching things up till they hit. Keep a rigger or a cheater at 55-65 with a spoon...plenty of steelies around right now Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. In town for our first shot at the Pro/Am this weekend. Got in town a bit late Friday to pre fish so we went blind for Saturday morning. Headed straight out the chute to 200 & set up...trolled west to 350 , made a couple loops and finally got a small king about 10:30. We turned around a got a rip on the dipsie..nice 24 major. set the 300 & 400 CP out & the 300 took a rip by a monster steelie & dropped him. Picked up 3 others on on the riggers down about 45..one had the lead for Saturday just shy of 10 pounds. We went in with six kings & 3 steelies to hold 6th place! Back out to same way points on Sunday...flat calm! We hit a major on the riggers right off & then another on the 400 copper & a teen on the riggers. Then between 8:00 & 10:00 all hell broke loose & we dropped 5 out of six...very frustrating. Nice rips & runs on the dipys & coppers & no body home. slow go form there till noon. by then the pack had left & in an hours time we did two doubles putting 3 majors and another beauty steelie in the box. We went in with 6 majors & two steelies to keep us in the # 6 spot over all! we were pretty tickled for our first shot at the Pro/Am's! Here is a few pics from our weekend..the nice steelie that took 3rd place, day one & day two catches.
  20. Tie a swivel to the wire...go direct to the dipsie with the swivel. terminal end of dipsie you will tie a 7-10ft leader of mono that you will hook your flasher fly or spoon to. the amount of leader you have will depend on the length of your rods & the size of your boat. I tend to run 9 - 10ft leader...but the person on the rod has to back up as I use 10ft rods. you can only reel the dipsie to the rod. Makes netting interesting , as said....ruff rider has a great vid on copper. You want a 25 - 50 ft leader to your FF or spoon. You can run the copper down the chute or out on boards. I have run them on the TX 44 inline boards or on otter boats. either way will work. If you run it down the chute you have to be ready to either reel it in( not easy on a 500) or get it out on a board as the tendency to get it tangle once a fish on is great. Good luck & have fun!
  21. The bay is certainly shallow. I have been fishing out of Oswego for over 8 years & never looked back. Once the fish are on the east end Oswego is the shortest run to get to them. The Mexico/ Salmon River area has is pluses once the fish stage in Sept....but so comes the traffic to go with it!
