  1. IMO spending all that extra money for an X4D over the X4 is unnecessary. Do you regularly fish so deep that blowback is that serious a concern? I could understand if you regularly fished with 120+ feet of rigger cable out, but the small amount of blowback you have at shallower depths doesn't seem to justify the additional cost or provide any usable info that your downrigger cable counter or sounder unit already tells you..

On the other hand, knowing how deep your diver or copper lines are would be more useful information.

I'd consider either having your Moor factory serviced to eliminate the problems you described or replace it with an X4, and add a Smart Troll. But the X4D just doesn't seem to make much sense to me over an X4.

Well I was fishing to around 110' ft this year and I won't use weights heavier than 12 lbs so the blow back I was getting was as much as 11 feet at that depth on most occasions. i only ended up spending about 50 dollars more for my unit vs the X4. You just have to search around for better prices. I asked myself this before I decided...What would be more useful...The true depth at the rigger or the useless surface temp that is actually more accurate with my GPS? So the choice for me was the X4D.

  2. You should go with the X4D-then ya know how far down the water temperature you're looking for really is at the speed your running.

Very helpfull. I have the X4 now and I'm am going to upgrade.

I agree. I have a top of the line FF and I don't always pick up my rigger balls especially when I'm over 90 feet down which was plenty of times this year. The X4D has helped me pinpoint my correct depth. You would be surprised how much blow back you're getting depending on your speed and the current below.  As far as the X4D not having surface speed, I couldn't care less about that since it's not as accurate as my GPS SOG anyway. The extra bucks for the X4D was worth it to me.

  3. Hang in there it will sell. You have less buyers this time of year because a lot of would be buyers don't necessarily want to pay for storage, but you have that covered which is good. Also, boats of that year usually have stringer and transom issues, but you have that covered too. I've seen a lot of boats sell on this site for a lot more money than you are asking for yours. Since you are not worried if it doesn't sell be patient. There are some very nice boats for sale on this site right now that have been for sale for the past month or so and they haven't sold yet either, but they will. Good luck with your sale.

  4. haha. I have the same Eagle FF. I am upgrading next year for sure. want something with GPS and FF capabilities and at least a 7" screen if possible depending on $. Was ready to pull the trigger on the Lowrance Elite 7 but with all the bad press on this site I am holding off on that. I dont want the down imaging or side imaging BS. May have to go down to staying with the 5" screen on a Humminbird model. Cant afford a Furanu or Raymarine or anything like that

Forget the lower and mid priced Lowrance units and save yourself a headache. Try and save your money for a Furuno or Raymarine. You won't be sorry you did. There are some good closeouts  on the Furuno FCV 620 model if you can live with a 6 inch screen. They released a new model and there are some older ones still being sold, but you might have to act fast. It does not have a GPS, but it is an excellent stand alone FF. I prefer to have a separate GPS unit and prefer stand alone dedicated fish finders. Also. make sure no matter what FF you end up buying get yourself a good Airmar transducer for the unit. The quality of the transducer is just as important as the FF.

  5. Like champ said if you are lucky you can get a fish or two, but those 9 fish days that we are used to this time of the year and like you are getting in Oswego, just haven't materialized at the oak this month. I am not down playing it...........the bite is off at the oak!

9 fish days in Oswego now? Where? When. That hasn't been happening for awhile now.

  6. Is there a half decent fishery for the Brown Trout, juvenile Kings and Steelhead this time of year in the Mexico Bay and Oswego area of the lake? I would like to keep my boat in the water until around the end of September if there is something to fish and catch this time of year. I really don't want to fish outside the mouth of the rivers or inside the harbors for shut mouth kings. Any info would be appreciated guys.

  7. All we need now is those darned silver carp that fly out of the water when the motor goes by.....! You'll get hit, fall in the water where the lamprey will start suckin' on you in ways you don't want, and the gobies will be nippin on your toes as u try to get the hell outa there!! :no:

LMAO at panfisher! At least you can make light of the situation. Thanks for the laugh

  8. Some questions that have been asked about the boat.

    -Beam is 8'6"

    -100 Gallon fuel capacity

    -Boat does have trim tabs

-Boat trolls down with the main motor very well.

    - Rides very comfortable in 1-2ft chop, no pounding. (I think some of the Penn Yan owners here can agree)

Please bring offers. Equiptment can be removed from boat to lower cost.

Beam is 8"0" on that model.
