  4. Regulations for Harvested Fish Fish Cleaning Law It is illegal on New York State waters to possess walleye, black bass, brook trout, lake trout or Atlantic salmon that have been cut, dismembered, filleted, skinned or otherwise altered so that the species and total length of such fish cannot be easily determined. However, these fish may be gilled or gutted. Other species of fish may be filleted provided that the skin is not removed from the fillets.
  5. Launched @ 6 AM, just another couple of guys beside myself at that time, they were going jigging, turned them on to some jigs with willow blades under the head and a bag of Berkley smelt swim-baits, just wanted to instill some good karma on a good looking morning I went 6 for 8 trolling a glo frog racer Spin Doctor w/ a Reel Hooked Up fly, and a glo green spot Spin Doctor w/ a fly I tied, 2.3 GPS MPH, between the 2 and 3 setting on a Mag Dipsey, 280' back, best slot was anywhere over 167-176 FOW,but fish were pretty scattered everywhere, also hung a Seth Green rig over the side, with nothing but spoons, no takers. back on the trailer by 11:30, parking lot was filling up by then, saw Mr. Pease's truck (Fishy Business) in the lot, meant to ask the 2 jiggers if they were "LOU" people
  6. Sorry....... I said the wrong materials for the recipe, it's "blue mirage" & "super glow green" 6"'s of each
  7. So I launched out of Sampson @ 6:00 AM, fog bank stayed with me for most of my trip, this was my "shake down" cruise for the first trip out, electronics failed, found a loose ground, fixed before launching, found fish, bait, and line hugging tree debris EVERYWHERE, pollen, flowers, leaves, and floating Winter kill lake weeds, fish were most congregated under the thickest seam of this stuff, couldn't get anything to hit any of my arsenal I had aboard, didn't care was a beautiful day & I needed it smile emoticontrolled almost to Geneva. Finally turned to head in and decided to hit deep water, hit that 130-135' slot and marked spotty bottom fish, finally found 1 hungry laker, right in front of the marina, caught it on a fly I tied myself, green glow/UV mylar, glow beads behind a glow/green dot Spin Doctor, back on the trailer @ 11:30 AM with a nice sunburn on my face and head smile emoticon
  8. I had the same question, laid out BIG $ for (4) Interstate Pro series, here is what their tech, NOT the salesman selling me the batteries, but the actual get on the phone and ask the pros, he told me, "charging" is a misnomer, you're not charging anything, you are "mixing" the electrolyte solution, so 6 amp or 10 amp or more doesn't matter, lot of backyard myths going around that slow and lo is the way to go. The KEY is the battery once it's done "charging", warm to the touch, bubbles sighted through the case, they MUST be allowed to cool down BEFORE they are used. I'm on my 4TH year with these batteries, and I'm actually using them to troll with @ 2.5+ MPH GPS 10+ hours each outing with my Minn Kota Terrova w/ auto pilot, I know Interstate has a toll free number if you have questions, and I'm sure the other reputable companies do too Marty
  9. ..........3RD fish was 25" "5#'s" 13 oz ............before the usual suspects can chime in
  10. So got up early and went to Severne. The plan was get there early motor down to Glenora and pull out when I reached Severne again. Left the house at 4:30 AM something executed the "plan" was back on the trailer at 8:45 AM, shot the **** with an older than me timer at the launch for awhile and home, coming through Watkins, by 10:30 3 nice lakers,22 1/4 " 3# 3 oz, 24" 4# 15 oz, and 25" 13 oz, 150 FOW, wire rods, mag Dipsey #2 setting, 280' back, my usual glo frog racer Spin Doctor/ Reel-Hooked Up fly( yes I have other Spin Doctor fly combos ) took the 2 larger of the 3 and a #00 Luhr Jensen hammered silver flasher with a chrome and glo Spin -n- Glo following it on my new Seth Green rig toy took the smaller one. Boat ran great, very peaceful morning on Seneca , I haven't fished a Finger Lake during the tourist season on a WEEKEND in years
  11. Left the homestead @ 5 AM hit Severne, started trolling up the north with visions of full limit boxes and fish averaging 8 #'s each ............anyhoooo couldn't find em shallow couldn't find them deep, found small bait balls here and there, 5 MPH wind pffffffft !. Nothing was having anything to do with the wire/Dipsey rods, except fleas and weeds, I did bring the rig rod out again went 5 for 5, 2 Keuka Lake lakers that got washed into Seneca from the last flood (cookie cutter small), 1 matching LL, 1 18" LL & a 20" rainbow which both followed me home for the grill. ALL were caught on a FLT Glow Frog (?) spoon, 3 RD up from the bottom.
  12. ...............I have no dress code like "ties"
  13. Mike that has to do with that goose decoy float right ? I gotta tell ya I was filling that standing line full of "Bobby Fuller" spoons, first time I "hand over hand" retrieved her (note to self get some kind of glove....65# braid) I noticed how much I stood to lose being a rookie if anything happened..............I also noticed in my "excitement" in trying something new that I was way over being legal , stuck with using just the bottom 3 points, all fish were caught off the bottom THANKS GUYS !!!...........Kinger if you ever wanna jump ship........
  14. Yesterday I finally decided to get my Seth Green/Thermocline rod in the water, BIG thumbs up to Mike Burt (Iron Duke) & Les (Sk8man) for ALL of their advice BOTH gave me their best secrets, which I promised not to divulge. Got my biggest laker to date, I'm learning more and more with each Seneca outing and am looking forward to learning more with this new rig. I also had 2 wire Dipsey rods out. Severne, heading South, 2-2.3 MPH, 165 FOW, 215', #2 setting on the mag Dipsey's, 100'+ on the "rig rod" using a 2# weight. Glow Green Dot and Glow Frog Racer Spin Doctors with matching Spin Glo bead combinations I tied up ( you thought I was going to say a "Reel-Hooked Up fly again huh ? ) rig rod 3 fish to the net, wire rod, 1 fish to the net and 2 "nobody home hits". I had a request for any fish over 20"'s from a friend 27"-5 Lb 14 Oz 26 1/2"- 7 Lb 3 Oz 22 1/4 "- 3 Lb 9 Oz 20 "- 2 Lb 14 Oz #1 & #2 were females full of eggs, ALL fish were GORGED FULL of freshly eaten sawbellies, #2 fish had 2 lamprey scars On the water at 5:30ish, back on the trailer by 8:30ish GREAT day to be on the water
