  1. I would say the Oak. One of the best, if not the best summer port on the south shore.
  2. Still after the yotes. Smacked this one over the bait pile. V_20240229211356180.mp4
  3. That’s shocking. I break 4-5 a year fishing the tribs and that’s all on new baits.
  4. Having fished extensively in the tribs, regardless of dive rate (which I know) the rapala lips are trash. When they are running good, they certainly catch out there on the spring bite. Just not worth $8 a fish IMO
  5. lol rapalas work well when those lips aren’t breaking every other fish.
  6. With bay rats having been the hot ticket and now no longer a thing, what is everyone’s go to stick baits that are actually being manufactured! Looking to stock up for the coming season and just wondered what people preferred.
  7. Here are the fox and coyote videos from the night out with Fisherman21. Like he said, bad shooting kept it from being a banner night, but live and learn I guess. Larrys 2.mp4 Larrys 1.mp4
  8. Little more fox action on public. Watched a skunk come in to like 30 yards and then decided to scan the field again and to my surprise a fox was just sitting and checking the call out at around 80 yards. Nice bang flop on this one! Fox Public.mp4
  9. Made it out for a quick session last night. Shot a fox between 240 - 260 yards out. Initially dumped it and thought I made a perfect shot but the fox did end up getting up and making it a ways. We never recovered it. But this is why I love the thermal and recording, if I analyze the shot I believe I held just a touch too low and forward. Probably took his lower right shoulder out. I’m sure the fox isn’t long for this world, but gosh darn these predators are tough. My buddy later touched off a shot on a coyote and same story. No recovery but lots of blood at the shot site. I’m sure that coyote expired but he moved all of 80 - 100 yards before we could no longer track on the property he went to. Again, shot was touched off near the shoulder. Bit of a rough night recovery wise but two (most likely) less predators out there. Fox Larrys.mp4
  10. lol. Good thing I don’t do things that are illegal. It’s a joke, and I’m not gonna start any illegal fires.
  11. Aw, man! Right in the middle of my carefully laid out block! Hopefully, those very carefully prepared firebreaks to control it! Who could have seen that coming?
  12. Ugh I was afraid of this answer. I was getting the feeling that around Monroe County it is just not something that is allowed or done. It is stupid as on private property, you should be allowed to do what you can for your land management. This seems to show a massive amount of ignorance on the states part for just how effective of a conservation tool fire can be, and it is becoming wildly popular again down south. I would just go ahead and do it anyway, but I have a feeling the neighbors would be making calls about the smoke and I have to imagine the fine I would get wouldn't be minimal.
  13. Hey all, quick question, my family owns 60 acres in the Town of Sweden (outside Brockport) and I was thinking of adding prescribed fire to my management strategies. I want to create better diversity in my CRP and get the understory going in my hardwoods. Do you know if prescribed fire is a possibility in NY? Is there anyone on this site who does it? Just trying to learn a little bit more about it.
  14. The scope I run is the AGM Rattler TS35-384. For the money, it is a really good scope for what we do around here (shots inside 300).
  15. A little video from another fun night out with Fisherman21. He pulled a fox out of heavy cover for me and the .204 went to work. These bullets hit animals like little grenades. Fox made it 40 yards before piling up, but if you saw he was missing half his body, you wouldn't believe it. R_20240123093857864_NE_O_$20240123093857864.mp4
