I'm in search for used or homemade planer board. I'm in college now, money is issue for me. (I would buy otter board instantly if I have any money around) so, I don't have time to make homemade planer board that I have been dying to do. However, I already has the mast. I was wondering if someone can sell to me or make two for me. (I'm looking for something under or fall into $50-80 range if it is possible) I'll using them at lake O. Pete - Much thanks for reply! I'll attempt to go after them. hope to catch one or two... Also, is longnose gar that easy to catch in Oak Orchard creek? I have been dying to catch that one after broke line with one in Irondequoit Bay. (I would guess it was around between 25-30 inch from kayak sight.) I'll try to find my list of species that I kept it as log book. Last time I recall, it was around 105 different species. I'll upload on here when I find it.

no sea robin, scup, sea raven during flounder fishing or even atlantic cod or dogfish? The list look great so far! Keep it up! I don't think you want to hear my list that how many species that I caught so far! you will be surprise how the small fish smacked my hook! Btw, where did you catch the whitefish, sheephead, channel catfish? Those three fish are still winning from me from cross out the bucket list!

dgio67 - yeah, I hope I might get couple of bites. If not, I'll go bass/Walleye fishing nearby shore/beach, they are definitely around that close to shore at that time of year.

dgio67 - Yes, I plan to fish there during spring because it is only chance that I am get. Due to college. I already found several interesting structure include "bowl hole." However, that bowl hole is where highest boat traffic are.(big boats and charter boats are trolling around that hole even circle around that exactly bowl. (I already went fishing couple of time with Pike Hunter and noticed that bowl on fishfinder. I got curious about jigging on that hole. )

Idn713 - Yeah, much thanks! However, there is another concern, what's the reasonable jig weight to use for out there? I planning to use few 1 and 2oz jigs or weight to see what happen next. Then second outing, will be lot better result because of know where to begin and which lures work better instead another lures.

I am getting the thoughts about attempt to jigging for any species that bites. The location will be at just out of I-bay along shore of Lake Ontario. Probably around 5-30 fow. I'll use almost everything related to jigging, three way swivel, crankbaits, spoons, and live baits. (primary 4-6 inch lures) I just wanted to get a bite. I know I will expect some swearing around me and some dirty looks. However, I don't even care about that when I am begin fishing around there. I am kinda hope to hook up several Lakers from there. (I'll use kayak or small boat with fishfinder) My plan is find the group of baits and start fishing from there and drifting until I feel that it is time to move back again or move another location. (Hope that many boats don't hit me! ) Anyway, I wonder if you guys have any advice for me about jigging around that area? If you does, feel free to comment or PM me.

Yeah, I fished couple of time with him before. He is really good captain. Everyone on the boat was catching cods. Unlike Captain John boat, I never had bite on that boat for two years before I decided to quit it. Then I am still continue fishing with my Captain's commercial fishing boat ever since never got skunked. Anyway, with Yankee boat, I never went that far. I only went to probably 10 miles off north at P-town from Gloucester. Probably because of wrong timing. Yeah, I used same method as you did with two hooks/braid line. that's exactly what I did. Unfortunately, I went fishing so often and never had calmer days to fish this year. Often fish through small craft warning. (working on Hawk 25 boat (25ft)) But same time, it is really thrilled to be on water that often and fishing is that really good. Couldn't complain any more than jigging weight or crying about arm was going to break off. p.s. I just heard that Massachusetts fishery said cod/haddock is dramatically decreased 90% and they want to banned ground-fishing for couple of years until they bounce back into population. However, I was highly disagree about this, I mean, everyone was caught 30 cods/10 haddocks in every trip to fish for ground-fishing. (my average trip for ground-fishing at this year was probably 100 cods/30 haddocks/10 white hake on every trip! Only kept 35-40 cods for 300 pounds limit per day-commercial rules) You can figure it out the weight per each cod that I caught. It is unreal! common weight was around 3-5 pounds per fish. But this year, they are full of boatload belly! I won't surprise if someone pulls 70-90lbers Cod at this year or two.

that's sound awesome spot. I have heard about that spot on occasions. (80pounds cod/Halibut hole sounds like very tempting to go there) This is definitely interesting. But any catch for halibut regard in any size is definitely great catch! I like to fish spot that has difficult ocean bottom because that's usually where monster fish sitting at and everything goes to fish's face. small fish need to hide and swim directly to their faces. This usually works well if you know how to using jigs right way without stuck into something. I am usually fish with 5 pounds jig for most of time. 2 pounds jig for calm water with slow current. (I know many people will say I am crazy about jigging weight. but I never like to let go more line due to jig is not touch on bottom. I prefer to drop them into bottom and make sure it is stuck on bottom until I began jigging technique without worry about let more line go. I never lost jig with 5lbs for whole summer but lost two due to blueshark attacks.) However, I never went that far. My farthest was around 30 miles offshore. That's it. However, if I can join with someone who can drive up there. It would be nice. I guess, I need to find new fishing buddies who are hardcore fisherman.
