I am looking to get into musky fishing. I was wondering what kind of rod & reel,lures,line, I should use. . I live about 25 minutes south of lake ontario and about 40 minutes east of lake erie and the niagara river. Does anyone know of any spots in the area that holds the fish any tips or advice would be very helpful thanks.

I'm new to fishing fingerlakes, I read over and over again, Big weenie senca and real hooked up work amazing. My question is what color spin doctors work with them!!! I caught one small laker off the senca Xtream with green and silver flasher but its been very very slow out there for me. I understand alot of factors are time of year, seems liek people are catching them.. Post what combos are working best for you!!

We been catching some here and there out in front of your house.. Rumor has it they are killing them between the lakes from the docks

I never have this problem. I bought releases that where labled as "Medium" I do not remeber the fish weight it recomended for use.

Looks like great day, I was out on 3/17 and fight fog all day with out gps do not think we would have found our away around. We caught one Laker in about 3 hours. Really need to learn the coper line. Do not know how to do it.

We are going to start in the morning salmon fishing.. Soon as sun warms up shallow water we are going after the big 1 lb pumpkin seeds that senca produces ... I read salmon are hitting about 20 feet down.. OVer how deep water should we start? Never fished salmon this time of year.

Launched out of severen ran up to long point, about mile before long point we disided to set up, had land lock hit right away off spoon, then about hour later had shaker hit , and let go, nothing till about 10am, we had some thing big on and snapped my 20lb test mono leader, Zero keepers 20$ dollars lost in gear
