Lots of good info found here, including on launches: http://forum2.quintefishing.com/index.php Most guys will use the launch in Picton, its a very good ramp, can handle big boats (I can put my 25' in here) but can be busy on weekends. There's another ramp, supposed to be pretty good, I've never used it, but its at the Glenora ferry dock, on the north side. Another one in the town of Bath. Closest to the Reach, but you have to watch the winds there. Anything out of the W/SW/S and it can be tricky.

Sorry I have to revisit this, my questions are similar, but I have twin outboards and want to get a kicker. I have 2 batteries, no room for a third. Each main is connected to its own battery. Should I be OK putting the kicker and one main outboard on one battery? I've heard conflicting reports....

If this is the Lake Nipissing up near North Bay, Ontario, then I would say it is a large lake. That can get rough quick. However if you're at one of the resorts at the east end, near or in Callander Bay, you can often find sheltered areas close to camp. I've fished that area extensively over the years. The West End is likely the same story but I cannot speak to it. As for boat experience, most operators up there will be willing to help you out and show you areas to fish that are close by. Be sure to get familiar with the slot size and restrictions if you're fishing walleye - it is pretty discouraging if you're looking to keep fish. If catch and release is your thing, then you should enjoy the lake. Lots of different fish in there. Walleye is by far the most popular, but you can find perch, bass, pike, musky, etc....

Love my Okuma Blue Diamonds - 8'6" mediums. I loved them more back when they had the triangle grips. But still a great rod for the money IMO.

Thanks guys, I'll probably start by putting in a shutoff on the main. I wouldn't have thought it was a problem with the lines in the engine since it runs fine off the portable. I did actually check the bulb on the main yesterday when I had the issue and there was no fuel in it or the line whatsoever which leads me to believe the kicker is drawing that out and then maybe getting air from the main once it's dry? ERABBIT - I wish the motor was newer....actually a 2003.

Hi All, have read a few similar posts regarding this issue but still looking for advice. I run a 9.9 Yamaha kicker with a 200 outboard. Kicker fuel line comes off the seperator with a inline primer bulb. The problem I am having and have had the past few years is that after a few hours of trolling, the kicker starves for gas and if I don't reprime the bulb will stall. Seems worse when the weather is warmer. When I go to prime the bulb, it is pretty soft. It will run for a while (1/2 hour to hour or so) and then repeats. This season I put in brand new seperator filter, new 5/16" fuel line, new primer bulb, and new fuel filter in the engine itself. What would be left? Fuel pump. Well if I run the kicker off the portable tank, it always seems to run fine. I know some guys say this is good to do anyways, but I only have a 22' and space is tight as it is, so would rather just run off the main tank so I don't have one more thing to trip over. The only thing I can think of is that the engine just doesn't have enough vacuum to draw through the seperator and the line, but this seems odd as I know other guys use the same setup with no issues. It is a cheaper seperator, not sure if this matters. The only valves would be those in the bulb. The fitting on the seperator is not a check valve. I'm so frustrated at this point, I'm almost ready to tee off the main tank, with one line direct to the kicker and another to the seperator which I would only port out to the main engine. But then of course I lose the filtering of the seperator which I'm not crazy about. Anyone have thoughts or ideas? Thanks in advance.

I always brine. Simple - coarse salt with a little brown sugar and water of course. Usually I'll leave in the brine for 24 hours, but a lot of guys go shorter than that. But I like a little saltier flavor. Then I'll put on a rack and leave in the fridge for about 24 hours to dry out / form pellicle. For recipes, I keep it pretty simple. 2 most used are to rub on vegetable sprinkle (Club House) and then shredded mozzerella and the other is lay on some hot pepper rings and top with shredded pepper jack. Sometimes just plain old smoke and a drizzle of maple syrup does the trick too. I find the beauty of smoking is to just try a bunch of different stuff, lots of options, and you can always change it up lots.
