Took my son and some friends out. On the water at 6:30am off at 11:00. Had 44 degrees down 57’ in 70fow. Ran 2 riggers and 2 dipseys. Worked out to 160’ and back into 100’. Landed 9 kings. 8 came on riggers and 1 on dipsey. Had 1 rigger release with no one home and 2 dipsey hits with same result. All spoon program with wonderbread taking most and biggest fish. Carbon hulk was runner up on other rigger. Kept 3 so my son could feed the firehouse Thurs night.

I can tell you Bill (whaler) is a great guy with honest info and always willing to help this fishing community out. He will share the knowledge he has learned with anybody. He even saves ladies from drowning until I show up in the fire rescue boat. There is a lot of great people in this group and Bill is one of them. -
My son’s girlfriend’s father from Texas came up to for work and asked if I could take him salmon fishing for his 1st time on Lake Ontario. We left the river at 5:30 and headed offshore. Of course Windfinder and National weather service called for light winds and less than 1’. I was greated with rough water in the river so I knew it was going to be a bumpy ride. He landed 8 and lost 2. 7 kings and 1 bow. He unfortunately lost the biggest but not bad for his 1st time salmon fishing. We pulled lines at 11:30. He even kept a fish to take back to Texas. Best for me was carbon hulk on probe rigger down 75 took multiple fish early. Bow hit white SD/hammer fly on dipsey out 250. Once sun came up I switched to silver backs on green jeans and bad toad and they took multiple fish and biggest on rigger down 8O and 60. 300’ steel never fired and neither did meat rig on 275 dipsey. Took him to a fire dept race last night that we only have here in WNY and Long Island and he flew back to Texas today with his salmon. Thanks to Matt French from Class A Sportfishing for giving me the intel and waypoint to start. I had to pleasure to work with Matt at the end of his career. Great guy!

Nice job. I thought the report was good for tomorrow? I hope so since I have a guy from Texas that wants to fish tomorrow. Hopefully the wind report is right for once and I can get him some fish on his 1st trip to NY. Was thinking of going out of Braddocks so I can target lakers if I can’t find kings. -

Gambler, I was out on the Fire rescue boat Sat in Braddocks and one of the guys said the water chestnuts were taking over Braddocks. This guy also happens to live on long pond and is dealing with them there. Rick

Wasn’t going to report my lack of fish report but read on another post some people find it helpful. 6/9 fished 70-160 in front of river 7am -11am. Marked bait and fish but never moved a rod. Tried everything in a 9 rod spread. Figured they were not biting cause the storm front moving in. Angler survey boat said other boats said it was tough also. 6/14 Took a firefighter buddy out and figured we had till 11ish before the rain came. I was wrong. Launched at river again but this time at 5:30am. Headed to Braddocks and set up in 70 and deepest was 120. Marked most fish and bait in 100 fow. Had one hit a dispey but gone before rod was out of holder. Had one small king on deep rigger. Looked dark to the west and saw lightening off Braddocks so we pulled lines at 8:30 and headed to the dock. Rained little bit but not what I thought was coming. Only 1 other boat out near me. Maybe it’s slow in Rochester or I am having bad luck. Had a good spring but struggling this week. This is why I go bass fishing also, lol. Hopefully this might help someone. Good luck everyone! Rick
