  1. Well I managed to kink my 20lb wire as I was spooling it on and want to make sure I repair it properly. I have read that the uni-knot is one way...any other suggestions. Thanks
  2. They are to parts that allow you to remove your downriggers easily and do work with the swivels....unfotunatley they are sold....if I come across any more I'll let you know [ Post made via Android ]
  3. Thanks L&M.....I did see that but instead of $900 for the older unit they're about $1900....figures. Hope its alot better for twice that money.
  4. I finally found the sport pilot....and if its the right one they show a picture of it but the web site says that its no longer available. Any suggestions as to who might still have one sitting around?
  5. Thanks Mark.....I was just chatting with Mower and he said that's what he has. Looks like I'm going to spend the extra cash and go with that. I went to the Raymarine web site and cant find the "Sportpilot" but the make one called a "Smartpilot that mounts over the wheel shaft. Is that the type unit you have?
  6. Mower....which unit did you put on?
  7. I guess the info I read was older....thanks for the feedback....from what I'm seeing you may have just saved me an extra $1000
  8. I have a 2002 2052 trophy and would like to put an autopilot on it. Based on the little info I can find the best deal for the money is the Raymarine S-1000. I was almost ready to order it and in reading some reviews found out that they only operate at 3 knots or 3.45 mph and above. With my average trolling speed around 2.5 mph I'm going to have to look for another unit. Any suggestions that won't break the bank????
  9. I'm glad....got to meet his step son and wife....very cool to see his step son checking out the boat when they came to pick it up.
  10. Just sold the boat to a great guy that is gonna use it to get his step son into fishing.....same thing i used it for with my daughter....very happy it's going to a good home.
  11. Great Duck Hunting or Fishing boat. 17 foot Tracker Grizzly (Grizzly is the welded version...no rivets to get loose) Two swivel seats. 9.9 Tracker 2stroke that always fires even in cold weather. Super tough Mac's River Runner skeg guard. CMC power tilt. Forward controls, electric start with unique stick steering (no console in your way but you steer it from the front of the two swivel seats) Cabela's cold weather flip up blind with wind break material and flip up roof. Floor lighting for those early mornings. Easily hunts 3. For the summer take the blind off (10 minute job) and its a great fishing boat. Two swivel seats, live well, custom built front platform with a swivel seat, fish finder with speed sensor for knowing exact trolling speed, and foot control motor guide trolling motor. Four rod holders and rod storage racks for 6 rods. Trailer is in great condition as well. 4 foot guide on bunks and a spare. This is a great boat but I bought a larger fishing boat and just don't have time to duck hunt like I used to. Boat has always been stored inside.
  12. Looking for a set of rod holders....preferably Cannon, Berts, or Big Jon
  13. still for sale? and can i pay with paypal?
  14. Happy Holidays to you, Ben, and your family.......I can't thank you enough for all the help this year. Hannah is still talking about how much fun we had on the water. Never could have done it without you guys and all the great people on LOU!!! You and Ben both have my number let's get together when we get some ice.
  15. Sorry for your loss.......we will be praying for you and your family
  16. Thanks for the report.....I'll be out Saturday but prob not till mid day hope to hear from a someone on the radio....the last three weekends its been pretty quite.
  17. Splitshot is right you have alot more ambition than I do......that sounds like an awesome time......went out again this past sunday and did the same thing as last sunday....a ton of fish....no slammers but a couple LLs worth keeping and two nice lakers I let go....lost a nice brown when i had to hand line the dipsy in order to net it and only caught two very small rainbows. Going out this weekend again....taking my daughter and two younger boys....really hope the action is as hot as it's been.....for the kids i think numbers are more important.
  18. Went out of Long Point solo around 2:30 with thoughts of fishing till dark. Ran south to just north of Miliken on the east side and started trolling north in about 230fow. Ended up catching fish in everthing from 200 to 90 as i zigged and zagged while trying to land fish. Set riggers at 70 and 90 and dipsy at 185 and it didnt take long before the fun started. For the next two hours i couldnt keep all the lines in the water. Landed a bunch of nice lakers with two around 8lbs.....a bunch of LLs with the biggest around 5lbs......three browns with one around 6lbs and if I can count a 12" rainbow I finished the slam. Had the dipsy fire twice while I was letting it out (blue dolphin SD and a buckeye blue and orange fly...riggers had a sutton and other with a chrome dodger and irodescent fly). Had two doubles during the two hours and had to take the sliders off because it was getting rediculous when the slider and the bottom spoon got hit and I had two fish on. No real slammers but after two hours I was so tired I called it good. Gotta say a big THANKS to all of you that have helped me this year....I hope to get out again but if i call it quits for the year it went out with a bang
  19. Great to hear from all......hope to see or hear from everyone Sat or Sunday. Good Luck
  20. After a month in the sothern tier managing crews cleaning up oil spills from the flooding we finally got out on Sat. Went out of long point and headed south along the east shore. With the wind and cool temps we didnt stay out long. Landed 3 lakers two under 5.....one 8.5lbder and lost a nice one right at the back of the boat. Dispsys at 200 and 240 caught all 4........one with a dark green SD and an irodescent fly and the other with a chrome dodger and a green fly. Riggers stacked covering 50, 60, 65, and 70 two with spoons and two with SDs did nothing. Only stayed out a couple hours but it was sure nice to be back on the water. This coming weekend looks good for weather....hope others get out....radio was aweful quiet....did anyone else get out?
  21. It was nice meeting you as well and I'm terrible with names so dont feel bad....it's Hal. Sorry about your issue with the weeds.....By the time we where pulling out we hadn't been south for a while....we stopped fishing fairly early and took my daughter for a tube ride north of LP and ate lunch so things must have changed. We hit some when we were out early but they were all lined up and we managed to sneek through without to much trouble. btw...Hannah is still talking about your dogs and how nice they were.
