  1. Headed to the SLR to change things up since the East end has been so boring this season. I fished with some friends Saturday morning from 6 am to noon. We focused on shallow water and were casting shallow cranks in 4-8 fow. We did try deeper and had zero luck although the Lowrance had a lot of good marks out to 50 fow. The bite was pretty good and a lot of 15-17 inch fish. We landed 40 plus eyes but couldn't scrape up a 3 man limit of keepers. Signs of a healthy fishery and young eyes for the future. The longest one was 24". The rest were 18 to 21. Headed back to the cottage for the remainder of the beautiful weekend. The reports were not to good from the Three Mile, Chaumont, Guffins, and BRB. Most of the guys I know didn't even bother to fish the Cape Vincent Chamber of Commerce derby because the fishing has been so poor. A lot of charters boats still relying on pickerel to put fish on the line for the parties. I took the kids out to catch some perch, crappie and panfish. We picked a few nice perch and some crappie to have enough for two nice meals for the family. The kids were happy and smiling so it was all wonderful. A couple of largemouths got in the way but that was fun as well. Great weather, blessings and happy family!
  2. I ordered one for $15.00 from Fish Hawk, thanks for looking out guys.
  3. I broke my Fish Hawk bracket base and i need a new one. Its the clear plastic style that you squeeze to remove/install. If somebody has one kicking around and wants to separate with please let me know asap. Thanks
  4. It is a cool story and totally legal under the circumstances. Congratulations on the bucket list. For those of us who reside up and around the SLR it is very common to have encounters. Its social media that puts anglers at risk. The DEC can follow up and prosecute if deemed in violation. As responsible stewards following the guidelines and protecting the species is the primary focus. With the many encounters along the SLR in the Ogdensburg area and downriver people just don't expose the stories. You wouldn't think they were endangered. Anyway great video and maybe in the next generation catch and release wont be so frowned upon and critiqued.
  5. Headed out Sunday morning. Set up for kings, temp out front was 41 degrees to 44-45 top to bottom pretty much everywhere out to 120fow. Screen was blank pretty much everywhere besides an occasional bait ball or single arch. Had the water column covered and no action for 3 hours. Regrouped, moved shallow, reset and boxed out on browns after starting out with a triple and a couple doubles. All cookies 20-24 inchers but nice fish non the less and I was grateful to see some smiles and morale boost. Went back out deeper and still didn't see much trying to catch a stray and it was just more nothing. As were deciding to call it a day a nice steely took a stinger spoon on the outside offshore board. All I can tell you is what an air show the chromer put on. Awesome acrobatics!!! So all in all fun brown bite and nice steelhead. Crew was pleased and that makes me happy! Had good intel that the salmon were there Saturday and wouldn't you know it a day late, southeast and northeast winds changed it up enough to drop the temps and move things around. Oh well, nothing but time and open water ahead.
  6. No good reports on the pike and eyes gang. Pickerel is what is keeping the charter parties content after a few hours of trolling and nothing before actually targeting them trolling. A very few pike around, no browns in the mix, very slow in golden crescent right now. This week a few sheepshead around. No good news from this end.
  7. https://huntfish.mdc.mo.gov/fishing/fish-diseases/sandy-flesh There was a discussion on the sandy flesh topic last year. We have found walleyes with it in lake Ontario and Kevin has had some encounters with it on the St. Lawrence river. We don't eat those fish but those fillets that were posted look pretty close to what is considered sandy flesh disease.
  8. Boat is sold! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  9. Yes the boat is super duty and people who own them don't let them go. I added some better photos for a better look. I am sure I will regret letting this one go.
  10. Replied to PM's, Penn Riggers are sold pending receipt of payment, Thundermist spoons are sold pending receipt of payment
  11. (1958) 16' Alumacraft -"Queen of the Waterways" boat, (1976) 6 HP Johnson outboard with a 2 1/2 gallon fuel tank, and trailer. The boat is very well built with super duty bow-transom-rails-bench seats. The outboard is very clean and has been well maintained. The trailer has new lights, bearing buddies, rims/tires and has paperwork. This is a really nice boat combo and I hate to see it go. I am the second owner and I am upgrading to a bigger setup. Its been a great boat for me and the family. Must see to really appreciate it. Located in Watertown, if you really need all the specs I can get them.
  12. A few items left and I will be adding some more as I go along. Still waiting to get the big boat in so once I break out the rest of the gear I will add some more items.
