They do make different lengths of rods so you would need to figure distance from main motor to kicker and make sure rod is long enough to turn motor all the way in both directions. . Here's the link to the Fit guide http://jacobsoninteractive.net/ez_steer/fitguide.php

Nice job and nice report John... Good news, I got the materials for the All Dressed Up Fly so will have them on the website soon.. I had a crazy weekend getting the family cottage open and docks in the water this weekend and Mother's Day today so I didn't get a chance to fish this weekend but hopefully will be out there both days next weekend.. Definitely see you at Keuka Sunday tho..Launched solo out of Treman early Sat am. Set up running bright sticks and a purple alpha alewife in 13'. The spoon fired twice off a shallow rigger before a stick even moved so I pulled the sticks and ran three FLT aa purples, that proved to be a good choice. Lots of small salmon with one that broke 19". Lost a really nice salmon and got a 4.5 lb Brown to the net. That was all before 8am. Pulled lines and headed to Laker land in front of salt plant, not even one pass and had three in the boat, while reeling in the last fish my rigger fired and had my fourth ( released to fight another day). Hot ticket was a iron duke fly not sure of the name with some green and yellow glow, and the gold n purple " dressed to kill"
I've shortened my fly leads down to 22" and that seems to be the ticket. Then again maybe the bite is just picking up, lol. The Lakers were full of sculpin or gobies, hard to tell so digested. The meat is dark orange and very tasty! See you FLTA guys Sunday at Keuka...

Okay guys another really really tough decision but in honor of our law enforcement I think it's a great idea that we all decide to name a fly after them with all the stuff they deal with on an everyday basis especially in the world we live in today I think we all can agree on that, they at least deserve a fly named after them.. So BLM FLY (Blue Lives Matter) it is.. Congratulations Irish56 I will be getting ahold of you shortly.. On another note and it's not a bad thing so don't take this in the wrong way or get upset with the site but I've been asked to tone it down a little bit with my advertising on here since I'm not a major sponsor yet but I hopefully will be soon this is an awesome site and I respect the administrators and all their hard work that they do every day keeping this site up and running for us to use without this site there would still be a lot of us in the dark .. Thanks to all you guys for all your help and support it means a lot to me.. I have launched a web page where you can purchase and look through galleries of the Flies and pictures of fish caught on the Flies anybody that catches any fish on the Flies feel free to email me at the address on the site and I will post you guys on the wall, love seeing these pictures and hearing your guys success stories.. We are also the first trolling fly manufacturer "I believe" to have an actual app that you can get for your Android or iPhone device, I will post a link to both the app and the webpage on here. We have also launched a Facebook page you can look us up there under Iron Duke Trolling Flies and hopefully soon we'll be able to play The Name Game on there.. Thanks again guys..Megatron (aka Calvin Johnson .. Detroit Lions ... blue/silver Not many Lions Fans around so I felt I had to define it)

I was thinking the same thing Rabbit. . If you are tying up to a dock make sure you spin the bow so it's facing out into the Lake and your trim is up all the way and some good bumpers.. Good spot to fish all thru that area and the other side for that matter too... Good luck..Waves can get very bad , will be on a lift ?

Did a little research for you and Big John's website is showing Parts but they say they are all parts that you can do it yourself one place you might want to check and they might be able to help you out I know that they do Scotty and Cannon riggers but try screwy Louie's in Fair Haven New York... http://www.screwylouiessportshop.com/

Thanks John.. Tough fishing for Sure plus the wet weather made it miserable. . We decided to stay in the skinny water and pound boards off the docks.. 5 color and 200 copper did well for us pulling browns to the boat... We did move out to 100 fow later in the morning and we're able to get a couple lake trout of the dipsys pulling a Iron Duke Glow Green Flash fly but definitely had to work all day my crew never took a break for even a minute.. It was one of those days were if it could go wrong it did, many tangles a few broken lines, had to replace 300 ft of downrigger cable on the fly and even at the end of the day when we thought our bad luck might be over for the day we pull in to the launch and have a flat tire on the trailer.. Want to thank Josh and Pat for helping make a quick fix of that... After all of that we were extremely glad to bring home a 3rd place finish. . Great job to all that fished and see you all at Keuka

You can get double keels or I just moved the knot up further to the front of my otter and that made a world of difference. . Not sure how you have your reels set up but mine are mounted at the rear of my hard top and I mounted a small pulley at the front of my hard top to run the planer line thru and that has helped a lot too.. One thing about otter boards is they are great in rough water in the past with the older style boards with no keels have actually had a board flip over a few time and run all the way across my spread causing an unbelievable mess lol... Not Fun!!

We had a stellar day as well running a charter putting our clients on plenty of fish including a few nice browns and a ton of salmon between 14" to 20" long .. Their arms were tired out by 9 am so we moved out for some laker action.. Was a great day on the water and glad to see you too John and yes was definitely a bit chilly first thing in the morning that why I looked like a mummy all wrapped up in my winter coat...Love the pics thanks againLaunched out of Treman at 6 am. Had a hot air balloon launch out of Stewart Park got some neat pics, the guy yelled down for me to send em to his email, so I did, amazing what ya can do with a phone these days. Saw Mike, iron duke at the dock, sorry didn't recognize ya bud, we were all bundled! Thanks for the tip on the Lakers, they were there RWA. Hit 15' to start and got a really nice Brown to the boat but I messed up the net job being solo. Had some really big fish feeding around me and lost one other big fish half way in. The small salmon were everywhere, tried to release em all carefully but two had hooked themselves in the eye.. Took Mikes advice and hit some Lakers out in front of salt plant. Gold Carmel dolphin with iron duke "dressed to kill" fly out fished the UV fly today 3-0. On the way back took a "screamer" hit on a ten color with orange and gold spoon, dropped him too! Way to nice a day not to fish!

I have quite a few people writing me on a daily basis now and sending pics of their success with our flies and that couldn't make me happier but please don't stop posting them and sending them to me.. Building a website right now and need them for that plus I just realky enjoy reading them and seeing them.. thanks againAre you going to offer the dressed to kill fly? It really produced in the dirty water and bright sky yesterday.

Well I've decided to get into the trolling fly business.. After building flies in the off season for hobby it has become more of a passion and want to make these flies available to others as well.. I'm building a Web site right now with an online store where you will be able to purchase them in the near future.. Anyone who may be interested in any of these before the website takes off just PM me and I will send you prices on either rigged or unrigged flies which ever you prefer.. Our inventory is building everyday... On the Finger Lakes Discussion forum I've been posting a new fly up each week and playing the name game where anyone who chooses to can take a chance at naming the fly and if your new fly name is picked you will win two free unrigged flies delivered to you door... Here's a few of the flies we have available now but many many more to come in the near future.
Thanks
