  1. Congrats to Russ on a well overdue win and great job Jason and Crew on your 2nd place finish and lunker ... A mix of spoons and flies worked for us and the beauty male 5 lb bow we caught ate a O&M 50 on the 7 color and just ripped it and made some exciting runs directly at the boat multiple times..We put a nice box together but couldn't find that one brown we were looking for all day... We were short a crew member this week so I asked Alex Young from LOU to fish with us.. Have talked with him many times on LOU and thru text and he is just as much of a knowledgeable fisherman and all around good guy talking fishing as he is in person too.. Thanks again Alex we will definitely do some more fishing together in the future....

  2. Huge!! It's definitely an advantage.. Seaguar 12 or 15 lb for leaders I highly recommend.. In any kind of fishing or hunting for that matter I don't care what it is but the more stealthy the presentation the better.. Small snaps and swivels that don't give up to much action of the lure will make a big difference as well..

  3. Launched out of Myers helping my friend Nick aboard HookJaw Charters.. We had a father and son on board while here for a family reunion.. We ran a bit north before setting up.. I was deploying a dipsy with a green dot and Iron Duke UV Extravaganza Fly down to 85 foot when it reached there it was immediately slammed by nice Laker and when we netted the fish this beautiful Rainbow appeared for a great father son photo opportunity.. We had a steady pick of Lakers bows and salmon the rest of the morning sending plenty of fillets home with them and a lot returned to fight another day.. Iron Duke A10 Shine and UV Extravaganza Fly doing the major damage on the Salmon and Lakers today... Love seeing clients who don't get to fish much with those big smiles on there faces at the end of trips and that puts a big smile on my face as well..

  4. Did a quick trip after work. Started at the power plant and did a few passes without moving a rod. Headed for deeper water and started a steady pick. Most of the fish were small. Ended up with around a dozen fish. I rainbow about 17" a few small landlocks, the rest lakers most around 3 to 5lbs. Dropped a 6 or 8 lber at the back of the boat. 6 rod spread and we caught fish on every rod. Green spoons and a white paddle with the Iron Duke "Quality time fly" took the most fish. U.V. fly worked as well but Ben's memorial fly was getting the job done. Had a newbie onboard and we dropped a bunch of fish but we still ended with a enough to make him smile. All fish were released! I hate to preach but the DEC is trying to renew the rainbow fishery. A 3 pound fish we release today will be 5 to 8 pound tail dancing fish in a few years! Take a kid or newbie fishing and have a good time. Wes

Awesome job and great report !! I know a few other that have been doing extremely well on that fly as well.. We have charters Friday Saturday and Sunday this week so I will try to report back on Sunday evening.. Way to get a newbie out there, that's what it's all about
