  1. I have used them for walleyes on oneida and flasher and fly setups. Totally adjustable, the top knob is much luike that of the blacks and only controls tension to the rod. The brass screw that is horizontal adjusts the tension on the magnet whick is the release tension to the lure. No question the best relesases. I have used them all, pinch type, walker bullet style, and blacks.
  2. Chamberlain are by far the best. Blacks work great but the chamberlain can be adjusted to hold the rod on the release until the pole breaks but release for weeds on your lure. No question they have the most adjustment. They use a magnet to adjust tension To the lure and screw tension to the rod. Sent from my VS910 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Already put the scottys on. Still have the other cannon on as well. Scottys are much faster and I do love the hand brake instead of risking the backspooling. No complaints about cannon from me though. I do agree with the made in USA, did not realize scottys were not. Just excited to know there are good companies that support their products in a sport that already consumes a ton of money.
  4. What great customer service! Cannon will be relacing everything. Sent receipts pictures a letter and the broken part, and they have agreed to replace everything. Even the early 90's mag 10a will be updated to a current mag 10! Throughly impressed! Sent from my VS910 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Around 64 on surface. Sent from my VS910 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Also fishing sat morning. Where do you target the walleye now that their not in the bay? Shoals off the islands? Sent from my VS910 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Hit the water before the sun rises and hope you get a few before 9am. They have been shutting right off. Goodluck on "killing" them. Last weekend only boated 4. Three weeks ago went 27-29 one day. Nothing even close since. Sent from my VS910 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Not that its worth the upgrade for that. But you could always sell the 7 & 5. Sent from my VS910 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. The new hds 9 and 12 have video inputs. Sent from my VS910 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Yes plenty. I already planned to. Even have the owners manual. Not that it proves anything but...I'm more upset about the time lost on the water this weekend. Might install the riggers myself tomorrow instead of waiting all next week for the boat to be serviced. (Due for first 20hr oil changes on both motors) Sent from my VS910 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. I get out every weekend possible for the last 3 years. I have fished most of the east end of lake o now and caught all species. I am also addicted. When the salmon start there run I switch to spey casting the rivers for salmon and steelies. Westcott beach is probably your best bet unless you find a hotel to stay at in sackets. That ride defiantly sucks. I didn't even burn 12 gallons this weekend. And I used the verado for trolling. (Better control with the winds we had) Sent from my VS910 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. They have requested for the broken pedestal sent back with receipts of everything that was lost. Not sure I still have receipts. Had a front mph t dual rod holder weight retriever and swivel base on it. Will see what they actually give me back. Still switching to scottys hard mounted. 13. You really think they would replace it? I do plan to contact them, but was figuring it was only for my own concious to vent.
  14. Was making a run today and had my cannon 4" fixed downrigger base (mounted to a track) break off at the riser and top of the pedestal. I had the screws come loose and tighened them before. Noticed a slight wobble last night but did not feel like monekeying around with it. I learned my lesson today as I lost my mag10stx with dual rod holders and retreiver. Only had this set up for 3 weeks and all but rigger are brand new. The screws completely stripped out of the aluminum. I was not very satisfied with the durability to begin with and planned to hard mount them but did not expect this. I never run with the balls attached and always have the clip secured. just want everyone to be aware that the quality of this design is garbage. cannons are no longer on my boat and scottys are being installed this weekend hard mounted to the gunnel. scottys are much faster and have a lower center of gravity.
