  1. I put a bead above my swivel and reel them in tight to the Twilly. The bead keeps the swivel from imbedding in the Twilly and keeps tension on the wire without putting a bend in the rod which are always stored assembled. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. I started with just two wire dipsey rods and did well for a year before adding down riggers, copper and lead cores. I would start with the wire dipsey rods first as they account for 50% or more of my catch. Everything works some of the time but the wire dipsey rods seem to work most of the time. 3. I have Cisco comparable in price and the fit and finish is awesome. All the edges are radiused and they come with set screws in the ends so need for end caps. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. I used to fish the Wiscoy all the time and prticipated in the diary program. But the number of insects and hatches started to dwindle and along with it the fish. So I stopped fishing there which is too bad because it's a jewel of a stream. I think there is too much fertilizer or insecticide runoff from the farms just my .02 cents. 5. I use my iPilot as an auto pilot and it works great. I did find that when there's a bit of wind the gps course heading isn't as accurate and the boat tends to wander. Just hold the auto pilot button down and it will run on a compass heading instead of projecting a waypoint and trying to get to it. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Talk about total chaos my lab Dawson pulled the kill switch on the motor in the middle of all the excitement! Thanks to my beautiful wife Gabby not panicking like me and calmly started the motor, corralled the dog and netted all three fish. She's a keeper! 7. Kings are back!!! Just landed a triple 450 fow. 220 wire with a Mt Dew spinny & green fly took a 20 lb king. 100 wire with a white green dot spinny & white fly took a mid teen king and 45 rigger with a UV glow frog spoon took a 19 lb king. Costly though the rigger fish seemed to be the smallest so I let it ride costly mistake as it tangled and spun the middle of my 300 copper. It's toast or I now have two 150 coppers!! 17. Our SOG was 2.5-2.8 and it's the 27 lb sheath LC which floats up a little more than 18 lb LC that's why we were guessing 30 ft down but I don't think it mattered much they were HUNGRY today!!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. I agree with ryonybony about the Chamberlins. I've been using them for years and other than initial adjustment and adjusting them in spring for browns when running spoons off the riggers I've never had a problem. There are times when they just short strike and it's hard to get a solid hookup. You can try adjusting the leads off the ball sometimes a longer or shorter lead helps. Plus don't forget to sharpen your hooks it's amazing the difference a sharp hook makes. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
