  1. Copy, that must feel like pulling in a car door the number ones are heavy enough! I just have found that most lakers were biting from 70' to 85' down, anyone have info on how much light is down at 100'? Can't be much. I have caught a few that deep but the majority have been above that depth. Glow stuff i guess.??
  2. Thanks Les. I have put lots of time in on Cayuga over the years just never had a big enough boat or the right equipment(until this year). This site has been a huge advantage to help out my learning curve. Added a new Okuma convector cv30D reel and a wire roller pole rigged with Malin SS line. Can't wait to try out my new dipsy rig. The numbers show it should be able to get 100' deep with 300' of line out with a number 1 dipsy. Hills and Valleys rocks for their selection! Any one been back out on Cayuga? Has it cleared up at all? May make my way to Lodi this weekend! Good fishing all! Johnny Wild
  3. The lake dished out a tough day of fishing but with the luck of my friend and his boy we were able to land 6 lakers two small salmon and one slob 8lb 2 oz (male) laker that took the grand prize. Thanks so much to all the people that post on this site. My learning curve has been a tough one but I do love Cayuga and all it has to offer. Mikey also took first in the youth division and he had a great day with his dad and myself. Buying more fishing stuff YEA BABY!
  4. Sweet report, does Kingerboy get any Sushi or cooked fish??? My hound loves it!!
  5. Milliken powerplant then go north 70 to 90 fow FF with white/blue uv fly 8 to 10' lead off ball, drop the ball on the bottom once in a while (big lakers a plenty). Speed 2.4 to 2.6 for the FF program slower if ya run spoons/ Small dipsy with a flutter spoon 40-50 down gave us a half dozen salmon and two bows yesterday all just a bit short of legal but fun anyway. Good luck
  6. I am feeling a bit confident any one want a side bet???? Just a small challenge not for pink slips or anything like that!!! PM me John
  7. If the power pro is braid that loads up quickly with the pesky hitchhikers. The only solution is 30lb flea flicker line. Try 85 fow and if you can run on bottom with a rigger for lakers, spoons or FF. FingerlakesTackle.com will give you the best spoons available. Spin doctors with blue/white flies been hot for us. Troll different speeds keep experimenting this site is loaded with great info form guys like Big Dave and SK8man. Good luck
  8. http://www.ithacalions.com/SA/results.html results.... wow 9.8lb Bow! See ya all this weekend in the LOU cup thingy
  9. We had a great morning Saturday going 12 for 16 all lakers. Decided to run an all out FF program. 85fow one rigger on bottom one at 69ft. Two dipsys out 200 and 240. Hot FF was a Seneca special with a white/blue uv fly although it was probably more to do with it being in the strike zone (bottom). The dipsys took a few fish out over deep water and the fleas and weeds were bad to say the least. Hope all the fisherman had a great weekend I don't think our biggest 6lb 14 ounces will hold on the board but we will have a great fish fry!!! Good luck LOU ers!
  10. Alpha Alewife, Bob Barker, Anaconda have been great producers for me on Cayuga and Seneca. The finish and quality of these lures is unsurpassed! His UV lures all rock, the glow ones work great too! Anything you buy from him is surely worth the $.
  11. Congrats maybe we will see ya all on Saturday for the SA Derby! The slam is tough to get on Cayuga. Nice to see quite a few more Bows out there this year!
  12. Thanks Les, I think we should have a two day challenge one day on Seneca and one on Cayuga One fish of each species can be weighed in for each lake that would be your box total. Support something like a local food pantry or whatever charity needs help. Anybody interested ? we can start a new thread too.
  13. Reel Stories won we took second. Sorry dont remember third. Tried to dethrone Nick and Seneca Lake but came up a pound or so short. My son and I had a fantastic day on Cayuga boated 32 fish total, two rainbows, ten landlocked salmon and 20 lakers. Lost a very respectable salmon at the boat may have been the difference... Thanks to all involved it was a blast. Oh the hot lure of the day was BOB BARKER from FLT. Coming in a close second was a Orange Puke small flutter spoon on a dipsy back 180. Switched over to the FF program and kept with the orange and green combo colors, also picked up a keeper salmon on a blue flasher/ blue fly. All fish came from North of Milleken in 75 to 150 FOW, Caught the bows on Wonderbread lure FLT on a small dipsy down the chute. Congrats Nick nice job for your clients!
  14. Good luck today ladies and gentlemen out the door to CAYUGA we go!!! See you at the weigh in
  15. Prisebox is right on RT 14 south of Watkins on the east side. You will smell the BBQ if you go by
  16. Looks like a perfect day good luck!
  17. LOL maybe see you at the Prisebox weigh in, are you all fishing in it?
  18. We are in. I dropped off my entry money yesterday at Prisebox. There were no entrys forms to fill out there so left money with a guy last name (Parrott) Looking forward to having Cayuga lake beat up on Seneca boys!
  19. Thanks Sk8man, coming from you that is a huge compliment. I have read many of your posts all of which were very educational. Thanks for sharing to all.
  20. Lakers did not start biting until 10:30am or I found them take your pick. Caught them on dipsys back 150,200 small gold flutterspoon/ Also caught two up at 45' off rigger in mostly 80 to 120 fow. The killer lure was BOB BARKER FLT fished 70' to 85' down (silver back with glow green sparkles and a red dot.) Speed 2.0 to 2.2 and a North troll, did not seem to like it slow today. Again goes along with the moon phase all the lakers had mostly digested small fingerling bait in them, fed super early or before sunrise got hungry again bout ten or so... Great time to be out fishing.
  21. Launched out of Taughannock at 6:45AM. Headed north to boy scout camp picked away at small salmon and one nice young bow. Headed to East shore and found the lakers ready willing and able. Four lakers later my new favorite spoon from Bobby Fuller FLT (BOB BARKER) come on down the price is wrong Bobby boy!!! hooks into what I believe to be the biggest laker I have ever fought. Well... back up on the story a bit, my beautiful loving kind awesome wife finally decides to go with me this morning..... She says take the fish, so she grabs the net we get this laker to the boat, he had shoulders like a 20lb king, she tries to get the net under him but the hook hangs in the net and bye bye monster.... I break out laughing and tell her I have the best story to tell everyone and she is almost in tears. We laugh about it and decide to call it a day. Well the divorce should be finished soon. No seriously she is the best for just going. As i am writing this she will not read it oh well still love her, but man was it a huge fish
  22. Interesting information. That jives with what I have heard about major and minor feeding periods and how they coincide with the moon phases. Thanks guys!
  23. I have a theory that the browns that are around are bigger and a bit smarter than the average fish. Just to add to the report the speed that was producing was 1.8 to 2.0 we tried faster but nothing. Usually the slower troll helps pick up a few more lakers but not on Saturday. Hermit do you think it has to do with moon phase, heard a lot of old timers talk about how the lakers feed due to the moon phase anyone do any stats on the subject or are there any articles ya' all know of? Good luck next week Barry!
  24. Great day on Cayuga launched at Myers at 6am. Didn't get third rod set when rigger fires small LL. Fished West shore up to Boy Scout camp with 8 fish in boat before 8 am mostly small salmon, ended up going 12 for 20 with one nice 19" rainbow that was released. Lots of small salmon lost two big fish on FF down 120'. The fish were starting to key on 60' down in 90 to 150fow. Kept one legal salmon and a eater size laker. Bob Barker from FLT did the most damage followed by the Alpha Alewife on dipsy back 180 and 220. Lead core and flat line on board all took fish, awesome time to be fishing... Tremendous amount of bait by the Boy Scout camp. Anyone catching browns on Cayuga where did they go?
  25. Nauti-Troller is in.
