Thinking about making last run this weekend. Is the lake fishing still holding up?Any info on depths to start, heard some are trolling in the harbor.Any info would be appreciated.
You can usually find browns this time of the year where the thermocline intersects the bottom, approx 60'-80' fow.Find bait on your locator and troll just off the bottom,we have had luck trolling medium sized Michigan stinger spoons in natural alewives
( black silver) uv black tuxedo, among others.Hope this helps.
Last August had wire dipsy fire felt fish on the line however didn't feel right ,noticed leadcore wrapped around wire had to handline entire mess into boat tangled in wire was about 100' leadcore ,stinger NBk and a live king 18-20 pounds.
I also soak in fire brine add some additional canning salt to plastic freezer bag.Have used chartreuse last season with good success. Most of our larger salmon came on chartreuse Also you can add small amounts of other scents to brine mixture, don't be afraid to add garlic flavor
I install a boat buckle ( ratchet strap) on trailer frame and small strap on lower unit of kicker, crank it down tight never had issue with this system.Have used this on several rigs.
Fished out of Oswego yesterday mostly 9'- 30' fow, very slow for us managed 2 browns and 1 small Atlantic, fog was brutal.
Heard of decent king bite in 60'-80' fow off the plant.Good luck.
