  1. Yes made me happy to not get skunked. I really couldn't have asked for much more. Kind of a trial day today. It suck I'm gonna have to put the boat away 3 weeks after getting it. Oh well Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Slow. Stayed north today fished out front of deans cove from about 11 am until about 3. We caught 3 fish. All fish came on flasher fly combos color white was the ticket. Marked a ton of fish suspended between 30 and 90 ft of water over depths as deep as 250 ft. Not a seller day but had a good day. Today was the first trip with my new to me boat. So spent a lot of time learning things about the boat. Will have the boat in the water until last week of hollowed so hopefully will get some more time in in the next few weeks. 3. Heading to cayuga tomorrow wondering if anyone has any good starting points. Will be in the northern part of the lake. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Anyone on here have a sea ray sundancer that they have rigged I would love to see some pictures. I am in the final process of purchasing one. I know it isn't optimal fishing boat but think it will meet my needs for both fishing and cruising. Thanks in advanced. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Does boat have a trailer. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. I would also like to give a big thanks to LOU member 58 johnson. He was willing to go get his boat and then come get me and tow me to the launch. He wasn't even out on the water. Thank you a gain sir Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Thanks for the encouraging words. I definitely know it can always be worse. Should have known it was coming the last 3 times we have been out have been stellar. I know one thing I'll never leave a stranded boat I'd tow anyone. The amount of times I've been towed in far out number the amount of times I've been doing the towing. 8. Is boat still for sale. I showed boat to a friend and he is interested Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. I looked at all 3 the garmin lowrance and humminbird and think I'm going to go with lowrance or garmin. I have been hearing a lot of bad comming from the lowrance about them just shutting off. The bass pro shop was all Garmin and basically said you are wasting money with anything else. Looked at the echo map 7sv Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. What is everyone useing for a fish finder. In the process of rigging a new to me boat and would like to put some new electronics on it. I have about 500 to spend on it. I've always used hummingbird but I am not afraid to try something different. Any help would be great. Would like it to have built in gps to. Thanks, Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Hey Andy sorry for the loss of your farm. I've stopped by a couple of times hoping to catch you. I wasn't working that day but went to see if I could help with the fire. Was glad your children and dogs made it out. Horrible to see everything burn like that. If you need anything let me know I'm right up the road. 12. Has anyone rigged a sea ray sundancer for trolling if so how was it rigged was hoping someone could post some pictures to give me some ideas. Thanks in advance. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Agree 100 % about it being a dance. Some days they want fast some days they want slow some days white is good color some days green is good some days glow some days silver. Who knows. You think you have it figured out and it seems that in all actuality it's all just a guess. And to just think these animals have a brain the size of a pea. I keep a log of the fish I catch with depth date location and weather of the day and what I caught the fish on color fly or spoon and it is very seldom that I can come up with any kind of true pattern. I guess if it were easy every one would do it. Good luck to you Lewis 863. Thanks for the replys. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. I was surprised. I've fished that stretch in years past and never could get anything going. The fish were good sized also. I have noticed over the last year or so that spoons are mostly dead is any one else noticing that? I have spoons that have been productive on that lake for years and any more it seems that it is a flasher fly bite or nothing. Been fishing this lake more than 20 yrs and something has defiantly changed with the amount of spoon bites in relation to flashers flies Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Got to myers late hit the water at about 0830. Pulled out of the shoot and headed north right in to a severe thunderstorm. Looked like the shaldrake area was getting pounder with rain. Checked the radar and looked like the storm would stay north. Decided to set lines on the west side and head south to stay away from the rain. Set up north of the yacht club in 80' of water with 2 down riggers at 75 and another at 60. Set the dipsey on 1 and put one out 200 and another at 180. Wasn't long before 1st laker was getting netted a real nice fish about 9 lbs. Trolled. South all the way past the yacht club and picked up 4 more fish 1 more laker almost same as the first and a nice lanlock about 3 lbs. The other 2 Lakers were 2 or 3 lbs or so. All fish came on spindoctors fly combo. Spoons were dead. Did have 2 explosive dipsy hits that came un buttoned and never made it to the boat. Stayed down on the south end until about noon and it looked like the weather was going to improve. Decided to run up to kidders to get a bite to eat and then finish the day trolling south to myers. After lunch sky's looked horrible checked the radar and saw the storm was going to be worse than the one earlier so decided not to tempt fate and head for the boat launch. Made it back and had the boat on the trailer just as the sky opened up. Anyway fished for 3 hrs and spent the fest of the time running from rain. All and all a good day on the boat. All fish came on flies of either white and silver or chartreuse spoons were dead. Riggers took 2 fish and the divers took the rest. Lead was dead also. Marked a ton of fish in the 25 to 30 ft range with bait. Ran a 5 and 10 color on planer bords with nothing to show for the effort. Good luck to all tight lines. 16. Heading out of myers tomorrow wondering if any one has any good starting points will post how we do tomorrow thanks in advance for any insight been a month since I was out last. Thanks Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. 80 ft of water. Right on the bottom. Tons of Lakers on the botom and salmon and rainbows down 20 to 40 ft suspended. I like to bounce back and forth in a zig zag patern covering different depths but the most active fishing today was 80 ft. Marked fish in deeper water from 65 to 85 ft down but they weren't as active. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Was out today also out of myers. Had a very good day 80 ft was definitely the place to be today. Lost a giant rainbow behind the boat. Fish came out of the water 3. Times. We spent most of the day on the west side of the lake. Odd day as the sun got higher seemed the fishing got better. My divers were slow today but riggers were on fire. Good luck to all during the durby. We never broke 10 lbs but had 3 fish over 8 Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. Fished out of myers today. Was on the water at 830 and set up just north of the park. Before I could get all 6 rods out the first dipsey at 240 on a 1 with a spindoctors with white and pink fly fires brought a nice 7 lb lake trout to the boat. Fished with a buddy of mine who has never been and he was stoked. Continued up the east side of the lake doing quite well with lots of action. Best screens were 40 to 60 ft over all different depths. Riggers were slow to fire today and only cought 3 fish on them dipsey were on fire. Caught 16 fish for the day all a mixed bag of 6 to 8 lb lake trout with a couple of salmon. Salmon were all in the 2 to 5 lb range. Had a great time got soaked but still had fun. Stacked riggers from 60 ft up to 20 ft and ran 2 dipsey s at 210 to to 240 ft out. Had a good day. Good luck to all and tight lines. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  21. Well I thought I would post pictures that purtane to how my deer season went. I spent a lot of days in the woods and never caught up with any of my bucks I tracked. I covered a lot of new ground and saw a lot new things. Weather was my biggest enemy but I still had a good year. Both my son's killed a nice doe. Hopefully next year brungs.more reasonable snow and I can catch up with one of these big bucks. Good luck to those of you still plugging away at it with a muzzle loader. Unfortunately my time is over. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. I know this is not a picture of beautiful scenery of of a giant buck. My tag is still not punched but while walking through a beaver/ Norway spruce swamp I happened upon this car. Imagine the story that lead up to this. Imagine the a$$ peeling that happened afterwards. Just funny the things you find. The trees around the car are.all mature growth spruce probably ccc era trees. This is on public land no where near a road. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. Make sure bilge is dry and run pump to clear the lines as best you can. If you can get to it easy pull pump out and put it in your truck to warm up before heading out. Wouldn't take luck water to freeze up the propeller or the motor in one Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. May have been weeds. Never had to clear the lines of weeds. Sure looked like bait and fish. Who knows what it was what ever it was wasn't interested in anything I sent down there. This time a year can be really hit or miss especially with Lakers getting ready to spawn. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. Water had a lit of big debris in the water. Logs and fire wood sized chunks of wood. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
