Like I said off the same town road is a restaurant on the lake. They used to allow launching for a fee. I haven't been up the channel this year but used to go up it in a aluminum center console. There is a town launch called Scott's park. It is on the inlet to the lake. There is also a restaurant on the same town road that allows launching for a fee. The last time I knew the town park was donation launching Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I have a 27 ft searay sundancer with a 454 single screw mercrusier that I puchchased last year from a dealer. The boat was bought used and at this point I'm not going to slander the dealership for they don't know about my problems as of yet. Anyway I purchased the boat in October of last year and brought it home and rigged it for fishing. I pit it in a slip on cayuga and fished out of it 4 or 5 times during October and then took it back to the marina I purchased it from to have them winterize it and go check every over to make sure it would be good for this year. This year before putting the boat in the water in mid may I started the boat at home on the muffs and ran the antifreeze out of the engine as I was instructed to do by the marina that did the winterization. I checked the oil charged the batteries and then took boat to cauga lake an launched it. I fished out of it for. 1 day back at the end of may and put it back in it's slip at Frontenac marina. That day everything ran great had no problems. Yesterday 6/19/19 I went to fish and went threw my standard pre launch check. Started boat up let it idle for a while while I was getting things ready to go un tied the boat and idled out of the marina. About a 1/4 mile out of the marina I started to try to get the boat up on a plane and boat was lacking in horsepower at full throttle boat would not climb over 3500 rpm. I backed of the throttle and tried again to come up on a plane this time the engine climes to just about 3500 rpms and completely dies and won't restart. Open the motor well smells of burt fuel almost like diesel smoke. Bilg was clean of any gas spray or oil. Spark arrestor on the carborator Semmes to have a black film on it. I had to be towed in from the guys at Frontenac marina and I give a huge thanks to them free of charge for people who slip with them. Anyway they called me yesterday and told me there mechanic looked at the boat quick and said my oil dip stick was dry. I never received a low oil alarm nothing over heated. I know my oil presher alarm works. It goes off if the key is left on and the boat isn't started. It looks like my season has ended before my first whole day on the water. Went out today also across the lake from you. Hit the 2ater around 1130 and fished until about 230. Caught 4 fish all above 6 lbs with one coming in at almost 10. All fish were on flasher fly combos with white atomic flys being the best. Marked a ton of bait and fish from 20 ft down to 50 ft. Held riggers 8n the 40 ft range and divers out 150 and 160. Had 2 kids with me 11 and 14 so boat controll was tough. Lead with different spoons was dead today. Fished last week up on the north end of the lake and did well with spoons. All fish were in shallow water is still pretty cold. All my fish were caught in the 35 ft range. All silver spoons on a 5 color lead was most productive. Riggers were pretty quiet but dipsy on a 3 setting had some hits too. I have a friend who is interested in fishing for crappie and such and he asked me if there were any in cayuga up on the north end. I have never fished for anything but trout and salmon so I couldn't really help him. I know there are perch and bass in the lake and the normal sunfish but does cayuga have much of a crappie population. Thanks. Set downrigger weight down on the botom and troll along can be a lot harder to do in the fingerlakes with the steep drop offs but the idea is to stir up the mud attracting fish. Problem being since the intruduction of zebra mussels it can make a mess out of your rigs. Back in the 80s we used to drag copper along the bottom with victrolla reels and large Suttons of phlugar spoons old timers called it making corn rows. Nothing beets handling a large lake trout off the bottom on single strand copper wire. I still use old window weights as downrigger weights when I'm in close dragging bottom helps keep my rigs of the bottom but keeps them close.
