One way to deal with the net is to twine it in your boat cleat I have the saltys so use those to hold the net old man I did some investigating and found the soney's to be half the the price 95% in picture quality
better sound and they have to degrees in recording to reduce fish eye better recording in low light and they have the anti-shake
I fish 1/2 time alone my hook barbs are pinched down so alot of times I do not have to net
if I am going to take a picture it is done in the water donated 3 phones last year to the lake 1 otisco and two at conesus
I enjoy hooking them does not matter if I land them ( I mainly try for tigers)
Fatigue for me comes from a reel combo that out of balance (tip heavy) as far as speed ratio it would be related to the lures your going to use when I am using glide baits I prefer a low ratio
to keep the presentation slow (when your drifting off you do not over power the bait) a spinner I like high speed (If you specis a 4-1 is about 24" to revoution and a 6-1 is 28-30") All my reels are left handed ( I am right handed) With todays reels you do not have to dump the magnetics I like revo and the diawa 300 series pretty resonable pricing I do have shamiano but do not use it much. trolling reels I like as fast as I can get
FK wrote The idea of allotted days would be a logistical and tracking nightmare on our end. Promo videos showing the proper way(s) to C&R the fish is a good idea, but there are already a ton and from what we've seen, anglers who are concerned will do it properly, others will not regardless what we do to promote it.
these are just apart of the responsibility of running a tournament. you should talk to other tournament organizers. Larry would ,be a good place to start. look into how muskie ink run theirs
this is not just a local tournament I think there maybe a need for more planing. the concerns here are legitimate.
there is an angler survey (year long) on conesus lake asking for target (bass walleye pike muskies ect) size # anglers and hours it will be interesting to see the results which I think will be way down from 5 -10 years ago no lake can take the presure that we are now putting on them
it is going to get worse in the future try launching a boat on the weekend from 5am -7am at conesus
I am with larry on this topic I fish coneus at least alot and over the years have seen the quality of the pike decrease
the average size is down I think there is a call to increase the size limit on the harvest
Just out of a ,point of interest what is the adminstration fee verses payout and if there is where is this money allocated
As with muskie touraments I beleve it goes to bait fish funds ect.
yea it was a nice fish and larry is a class act a lot of knowledge the night was a surf & turf the 45 musky and an 8 point buck at 2:30 with the truck on I-90 $3500 later priceless
