  2. I've heard the same that fishing is off in Lake Michigan also. ?? Crazy !!
  3. Thanks for reports guys!! Heading up this weekend. Hopefully the kings will play!! Fished 2 weeks ago and it was Slow!! Sounds like things are picking up!!
  4. I got two okuma clarion 55's. With about 300 yds. 50# power pro. And 300' copper. Fills reel about perfect. These reels are high speed gear ratio. And trust me you will want that ! Lol
  5. Yup fishing as I type. And it's SLOW!! 1 major today. And 1 laker. Hopefully kings show soon???
  6. I'll be up in the area August 9-13. Hope kings will cooperate!! If not I'll target lakers I guess ?? Or browns. ?? I know the big tournament is goin out of the oz. Can't wait to see how the big guys are doin. My bet is there are a few guys that know exactly what's goin on out there!! Lol. Me I'm a newb!!
  7. As of right now I don't have big boards. So we will see if I can make the tx 44's work! I appreciate all the pointers guys!! Thank you. I can't wait to see one of those tx44's take a shot from king!! Gotta be pretty cool! Caught a lot of 30" walleye on offshore boards. And they will dunk those, so can't wait to see a king hit lol!
  8. Ok sounds good. I be up in the oswego/pulaski area for few days in 2 weeks. Gunna try out my coppers on the tx44's. Thanks guys !!
  9. Are you guys rigging the tx44 boards so fish don't pull line out of release clip?? That is how I fish smaller boards for walleye. But I never used Inlines for salmon. I just picked up a pair of tx44's. So I'm learning. Thought about rubber banding board to backing. So It can't move down line. I'm gunna use 50# braid backing and a 30' piece of 50# mono to my copper. Guys have told me to put 50# mono section for the release clip. Hope I'm on right track??
  10. Just received my weights today. Nice looking , can't wait to try em. 2 weeks and I'm goin fishing for few days. Nice product and fast shipping!! Thanks Scott !!
  11. We have a dragonfly 7. Which we like. But it currently is sent back to raymarine for them to repair the transducer plug and plug on unit itself. All pins broke off inside plug?? I take some responsibility for this. But it is a cincy design. And I think the whole mount is cincy too!! Unit has great screen and very detailed and accurate. But it is currently broke. Once it comes back it will prolly stayed mounted and never removed. So the thieves can just have at it !! Oh have like 4 hummingbirds on this boat and another boat that are nice too, and never any issues!
  12. I'm gunna try using the tx44's this year to pull 300' coppers. Are you guys rigging them so the line comes out of release when fish strikes or are you pegging board to line with release or rubber band. So it doesn't slide down line. ??
  13. Thanks guys!! I really have my eyes on the scotty 1116's. I think they are most bang for buck??? I would buy used riggers if I found some , but I am thinking they are hard to come by. Lightly used??
  14. Hey guys I'm kinda a newbie at this, but i will be buying 2 new elect. downriggers to set up a 20' starcraft aluminum boat. I'm looking at Scotty's and big Jon's. I like the Scotty's 1116 , but they look bigger and heavier?? I am mounting these on Bert's tracks. The big jon captain packs look more compact. But the captain packs don't shut off when out of water?? Not sure?? Just looking for opinions from u guys that use these downriggers all the time. Thanks guys
  15. Rob I don't have a review yet but I just ordered a dragonfly 7. It looks like a great unit. Without breaking the bank! So we will see!
