  1. Copper Set Ups New to fishing Copper and Wire I'm looking for a reel large enough to hold 900' of backing along with 450' of Blood Run copper 45# and 20' of floral Carbon. Of course a Line Counter is necessary. I don't want to spend 200$ so short money is always good. I'll even consider a used reel if anyone has spares. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. Redoing the back of the boat. I've been running older Cannon Mag 10's without too much trouble but there getting old and starting to split. I've been thinking about going with Scotty's. What are the Pro's and Cons for both Cannon and Scotty's and what's your choice? Thanks in advance Steve Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  6. I have a silly question, Do the Cabela's quickdraws work on Lake O for Kings? I have 14 flush mounts installed on my boat, I currently use them down on the salt here in NH. They work just fine for stripers and blues... Whats your opinions? Thanks Steve
  7. Vetting, I know these rod holders were sold. I have a couple questions about them. Did they work on the lake? Are they strong enough to handle the Kings in the fall? I have 14 mounted on my boat currently for Striper fishing along the NE coastline and they work just fine. Just Curious Thanks again Steve
  8. In my personal opinion stick with the Big Jon planer line, down here on the coast we have tried multiple thing while trolling for Stripers. From Mono to Braid to even Weed Whacker line. The best performing line we could figure out was the normal line. Grant it we don't run 4' boards our are just the folding style 30" Rivera. The seem to handle the rollers really nice Steve Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  13. Hey guys, is there a Navionics chip just for Lake Ontario, currently I have the platinum edition for my Raymarine E-120. It works great here in NH, but unsure of the range. Will it cover Lake O as well Thanks Steve KJ Louise Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  15. All 3 are very nice boats...esp the stiegercraft!! When I was I'm. The market for a new multi purpose fish boat, I did research upon research to figure out which make, model, and size worked for me. After a painful process and many test rides, I decided to approach Eastern Marine. They had the perfect size for me 27'. I got to chose and plan my the set up of my rig... Since this was going to be multi purpose boat I opted for a 8" pot hauler, 11 swivel rod holders, closed transom, triple batteries, Gil bracket with 225 Honda, self bailing cockpit. Hardtop with full canvas. Overall fish able length is 14' from wheel too Transom!!! This allows for plenty of anglers to fish from. Depth of the gunwale was huge for me too, it's 30" from floor to top. Storage is plenty up front in the cabin. Greatest thing about the KJ Louise it's TOWABLE!!! Good Luck in your new venture take your time and pick exactly what you want and need! Eastern boats website is Www.easternboats.com Steve Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  24. I've tried blacks, walkers, alligator clamps, they al work ok... 3 years ago I tried a Chamberlin release...I will never leave a dock without one or 8 of them 2 adjustable areas, 1 for upward tension and 1 for strike tension. Both fully adjustable from <1 lb to 10 lbs. now they even make a stacker release for running doubles. Check out there YouTube videos when u get a chance...truly amazing.
