  1. Marked lots of hooks just off bottom. Could not coax any takers. Since we made the trip, switched gears and landed 15 smallies.

  2. Thank you for sharing Bob. All the world loves a storyteller. The experience was well written and probably shares well over a beer too😉. At one point, I thought you were going to tell me to get the net......Congratulations on some great pics, memories, and a gorgeous muskie! Well done, sir.

  3. Has anyone experienced any productivity fishing Duck in the last, say week +? Or does it generally slow down this time of year? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Tight lines!!

  6. Thank you, gents. Bass at bottom was 4#11oz. The middle bass was cut to bleed it out. Improves quality of the meat. Major arteries can be cut at the gills and tail to expedite this process. Tight lines!

  7. Had the afternoon off on Monday. Fished for a few hours with a fellow fisherman and caught our limit. Crabs in 20-30 fow. Most of the fish were caught between 530 and 630pm. Lots of fun.post-155409-14109211872426_thumb.jpg

  8. Shipmode,

In short, bleeding fish can be accomplished by cutting the dorsal and ventral arteries. A cut under the gills to the back bone will initiate blood flow. Then place the fish in water and allow it to bleed out. Once bled out, place on ice as soon as possible. Try it. You wont be disappointed:)

Google IkeJime for some great info on this topic.

    Tight Lines.

  9. A buddy of mine told me several months ago that he bleeds all of his fish. Well, anything larger than a perch that is. Anyway, It is supposed to make a significant difference in quality and preservation of meat. Sure enough, I read up on this 400 year old Japanese method of killing and bleeding fish, tried it, and WOW what a difference in fish color, texture, and taste. Does anyone else practice bleeding or ike jime prior to preparation? I know salmon are commonly bled. Tight lines!

  10. I have the 3000. Bennelli bought Stoeger to manufacture actions. Best shotgun I have owned. Wonderful value. Fit and finish is a bit less than the Benelli but in my opinion its the guts that count. Love the inertia action. Good luck.

  11. I agree with Ivan.... Large spoons behind believer or grandma..... Productive setup. Lol, have not heard it called 'Bk' rig before. That is funny. We have always called it a tandem set up. Caught quite a few fish on this set. There is underwater cam footage from a guide on the st lawrence filming a muskie following a 'bk' rig. The muskie follows the bait for some time and makes numerous attempts to hit the spoon. Really good stuff.

  12. Agree with Ivan. I often catch northerns on tandem baits. Natural color sticks have always been reliable for me. Seems like Northerns hit the spoons 9 out of 10 times. Good luck.

  13. 900 Series RR is a killer bait. Eastern lake O and St Lawrence River sure produce some world class eyes. The Largest walleyes have come for me trolling for muskie - Biggest was 14# and hit a 13" bait on a down rigger.

As far as mounting is concerned...... If I had to mount one walleye it would be like the attached photo. This was caught through the ice near alex bay, ny this past winter. 😳post-155409-14097933270497_thumb.jpg

  14. To Kevin's point, when fishing with worms need to use drop shot type set-up about 24-30" off bottom or gobies will do a number on your bait.
