  2. A beautiful steel statue of a mature muskie was commissioned over a year ago and is now proudly displayed in downtown Clayton NY. I believe it was erected a couple months ago but my son and I just had the opportunity to check it out. It is really a beautiful tribute to a magnificent fish and long term conservation efforts. Check it out if you are up this way. Very cool. post-155409-14347490828339_thumb.jpg

  4. It is a lot of additional stress on a bass to be caught and released off beds. I see the same areas getting pounded over and over by anglers out of season. Those fish are caught numerous times. I am not a marine biologist but it would make sense that mortality rates increase as some fish are caught multiple times. We have a remarkable bass fishery on lake o and the St. Lawrence. LOU is a great forum for Dialog like this...... Awareness promotes conservation. Tight lines!

  5. Fished the afternoon bite on chaumont bay. Despite some rain and wind managed to catch 2/3+ pail of perch. All in a decent day on the water. post-155409-14326082126612_thumb.jpg

  6. Fished LOTI this am. It was 57.5. I thought it would have been warmer based on temps elsewhere. Bit choppy. Bite was ok. Did not find crappies. Caught some nice gills and sunnys. Great time with my buddy.

  7. Caught 3 buckets 2 weekends ago in a bay off the St Lawrence. Fishing has been steady. Recent cold snap had slowed things down though.

  8. Anyone having any luck catching white perch? Going fishing tomorrow and wondered if they were being caught in any numbers..... Thanks and tight lines!

  9. Agreed, Kevin. Last two weeks has produced respectable crappie and gill fishing in certain areas on the St Lawrence. My best day has been 6 crapps so far. My buddy has limited out a few times....... Showoff. Good luck.
