We troll 2.5-4 SOG depending on conditions and how baits r running. Ditto recommendations for guided trip. Several guides on the St Lawrence are unbelievable muskie fishermen. Well worth the trip. Good luck!!

Where on the St Lawrence are you fishing? There are many great baits..... Believer is an excellent choice and they catch fish.

A beautiful steel statue of a mature muskie was commissioned over a year ago and is now proudly displayed in downtown Clayton NY. I believe it was erected a couple months ago but my son and I just had the opportunity to check it out. It is really a beautiful tribute to a magnificent fish and long term conservation efforts. Check it out if you are up this way. Very cool.

It is a lot of additional stress on a bass to be caught and released off beds. I see the same areas getting pounded over and over by anglers out of season. Those fish are caught numerous times. I am not a marine biologist but it would make sense that mortality rates increase as some fish are caught multiple times. We have a remarkable bass fishery on lake o and the St. Lawrence. LOU is a great forum for Dialog like this...... Awareness promotes conservation. Tight lines!

Caught 3 buckets 2 weekends ago in a bay off the St Lawrence. Fishing has been steady. Recent cold snap had slowed things down though.

Anyone having any luck catching white perch? Going fishing tomorrow and wondered if they were being caught in any numbers..... Thanks and tight lines!

Agreed, Kevin. Last two weeks has produced respectable crappie and gill fishing in certain areas on the St Lawrence. My best day has been 6 crapps so far. My buddy has limited out a few times....... Showoff. Good luck.

Perching has been very tough all over it seems. I fish the St Lawrence and Chaumont bay.... 1/4 pail is good day. 1/2 pail is knocking it out of the park this year! Something is very wrong!!!
