  3. Thanks a lot - may have to head west next weekend. See you on the water!
  4. Started around 645 trolling east of the harbor in 9 FOW. Setting lines, and a perch/orange belly J-11 behind an in-line fires... nobody home. Got the same rod reset, setting another line and planer board gets pulled under, a couple head shakes and a broken line. Of course, no more of that lure on board. Thought it was gonna be an easy day... trolled for another 5 hours and picked up a little brown and a little salmon, both on Silver/Black Smithwicks - missed a couple more. Didn't identify the salmon; wanted to get it back in the water quickly.
  5. Still available. Make an offer Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Sold big boat - these are too big for new small boat. Asking $100 obo Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  13. My first boat was a 1980's 17' Flare CC with a 1988 Johnson 88 SPL on the back. Fished that boat hard on Ontario, Oneida and Cayuga. Like you said, handled big water surprisingly well. Like any boat, beware of transom rot and soft floors. The only gripes I had about mine were how far back the console sat, didn't leave much room to fight fish between the leaning post and transom (being a 17' boat didn't help that either), and a general lack of storage. History wise, I believe that Flare boats were built in Lake Wales, FL until the mid-late 80's before being bought out by another boat builder, and absorbed.
  14. Did our shake down on Cayuga this weekend. Fished a couple hours Saturday to work the bugs out, and gave it a good go today. Launched at Treman and did big circles in the mud on the south end from 10:00-3:00. Took 3 hits on the Perch/Orange belly J-11- ultimately lost it to a northern. Other than that, washed lures. Ran from 6-40 FOW; 1.5-2.6 mph. Brights, naturals, sticks, spoons... Everything but dynamite... Maybe we should have lit some fuses... Boat ran well, can't complain. 16. Thanks for the report. How much water was in Myers? Hoping to get out in 2 weeks, but worried about draft.
