With home field on the line playing at home how the Pats, could loose to Fitz and the Dolphins ?
-
Went up to see the hatchery during the run this year . I could not believe the amount of people I saw in the area .
A lot of money changing hands .
They ain't ever going to close the Salmon river during the run . It's the crown jewel of the fishery .
And it remains to be seen if there will be a noticeable drop in kings the next few years . And if there is, can't be great every year .
We had stellar lake fishing this year . And a poor return on the Salmon .
Maybe that's because Nat reproduction is more widespread that popular belief .
I'll take a wait and see approach .

Nope , it bickering , and being vindictive from some as I see it .
From some of the stuff I've read on here , there is no other conclusion .
-
I don't care what fish is managed for where .
We all get a shot at everything but the Lakers at some time during the year , lake or trib .
And all everyones licence and tax dollars pay for it .
Which make them everyone's .
Getting a little tired of this bickering .
I would expect better .
-
And it all goes back to one simple question .
When they safely could , was the maximum amount of water being released at all times ?
If not , WHY NOT ?

Maybe the reason they did not increase flows in previous years is because they did not have to .

Wrong, Salmon are managed for the Lake. Not the tribs. You guys made that perfectly clear when you started regulating us on the lake. It needs to be our turn to protect OUR fish.
Sorry , but all these fish are everyone's fish .

Unless waterfront tax rates are higher than the rest of the municipality , the reason waterfront owners pay more taxes is because the property is worth more . Which is a,good thing . And the property owners decision to purchase or to hold on to it .
And assessment is what fair market value is,. I worked on a few houses on Old Edgemere drive , which I have seen on the news that since the law passed , anyone would be crazy to buy IMO.
So the market value , as a lot of other property , has dropped . So the assessment should drop .
But better watch out . When this situation becomes the new norm or gets worse and they condemn your property as uninhabitable or insurance will not insure it , they will give you the lower value to buy you out .

4 rods per person ?
Please Tell me this is a joke .

Seems like any excuse to keep the water high .
Excuse me for being a cynical. But with the history ......

Brady has been playing poorly as of late.
Edelman is,banged up .
Josh Allen playing better .
Should be a good game .
Pats are an above average team now .
Would be 3 losses in a row if they loose .

I have had experience with 2 aluminum boats that leaked 1 mine ,1 a friends .
First priority was to find out where leaks was . We filled the boats with water in the driveway .
Mine had 2 rivets ,I tightened then I put some sealer over them and it stopped it .
My friends was leaking where the transom bottom.met the hull by the keel about a foot left and right . He wound up having someone weld it and it stopped .

Shummer said there has been 1.5 million allotted for a study .
I'll save them a lot of money .
Here is my study.
The lake is to high , lower it any way possible , now .

Anglers pal . I have used them for years with dipsys .
Sometimes I wonder if they would slip But they never did . They are good for rigger rods and planners . Excellent quality .
They are pricy, there might be better choices for the money .
-
They screwed up when they passed 2014 . They took a gamble that the lake would not go as high as it did. And it started to rain like cats and dogs the minute they closed the gates all over the great lakes watershed , and it turned around and bit them on the ass . THATS CALLED KARMA .
The simple question is , as soon as it was safe downstream ,and the minute the Ottawa river receded , are they releasing the absolute max out ?
FULL well knowing that we are 18" above normal , and above us is at record highs , if they are and have been at max release , thanks for trying . If not then they are playing us like fools .

I fish light stuff a lot .
I love braid for all of my bass fishing .
I have maybe 10 setups of different actions . Can't beat it for feel and hook set
But for ultra light to light panfishing and trout for me it's Mono hands down . Small jigs with small hooks set easy .
I have 2 rigs that have 5 # braid and they are great , but jigs, under a float or ultra light , the lighter braid gets funky and has a tendency to knot up when casting , and it's hard to untangle when it does it. .
A 6 /6 or 7 ft ultra light with 6 Or 4 # would be perfect IMO .

Depending on the rod , I would use clear 4 # or 6# Trilene XL
I don't think Flouro should be needed for panfish with light line . .

To blame the IJC for all the high water would be wrong . All the lakes above are high and we can't do anything about that . We have had high water before with not a lot of problems .
But when this thing passed and they closed the gates , that's when the real problems started . Now the water is in LO and there isn't a safe way to get it out quickly . It might take years , IF ,IF , they are serious about it .
I figure the IJC is responsible for about a foot of the high water . The foot that is the real problem . Mother nature for the ready .
-
Yea, but we can control it somewhat
When they closed the gates in Dec the first year in anticipation of it passing , the problems in LO started . I watched the water come up .
Suspend shipping now and open the gates to MAX . If they are serious about fixing the problem . ESPECIALLY with high water that cannot be controlled upstream .

The sky isn't falling but the shoreline sure is washing away and a whole lot of people are getting flooded out .
And it sure is hard to run a business on the water for some .
Conspiracy ? We were told this was for environmental reasons and anyone with an IQ of more than 6 1/2 knows better .

Pretty simple , pull the plug ... NOW .

So pull the plug .........NOW!

What was the justification for a thumbs down by the DEC ?
Seems to me with more Brown's ,steelhead and Atlantic's , it would be good for everyone .
Is there hope ?

So the simple question now has been answered .
We are not at max outflow now , 8600 from 10,400.
Now, " WE" would like to know why that is .
Especially since "WE" all know the amount of water coming at us from upstream . I
