  1. Not sure how to interpret this question... Yes you can use planner boards in the morning for trout without leadcore. This is where proof reading your posts come in handy, I feel like you meant to ask something more/different...
  2. I started with big boards for walleye and honestly hated them. I ended up selling it all and going with inlines, granted that was before I got the salmon fever and now wish I kept them to pull coppers. But for walleye they are hard to beat (great for spring browns too), add a set of clip on weights and you can pinpoint just about any depth you want for walleye. I would highly recommend the tattle flag kits also, not so much for telling when a fish is on but for telling when something isn't running right (small fish, weeds, fouled lure). Here's the bloodrun link, and a link to the best price if you decide to buy new boards https://bloodruntackle.com/inline-planer-board-modifications/ https://www.franksgreatoutdoors.com/off-shore-combo-bag.html
  3. I run offshore inline boards and needed to modify them to pull anything over 5 colors or they wouldn't run right. I can pull 8 colors (haven't tried a full 10 on board) or 300 copper but just barely after modding them. Checkout Bloodrun's website for tips on how to mod them. Offshore makes a larger inline board that I haven't tried but heard good things about.
  4. Still got some time left to catch them in the lake... these warm temps have really slowed the fishing in the river from what I've heard. Means more fish still in the lake for us! Ill be out there Saturday for sure.
  5. I believe you just flip it over and it will send them out the other way. I couldn't tell you how far, I've never used them, just know what they are for.
  6. attach them above your downrigger balls and they will swing them out to the sides further. Mainly used by ppl running 3 or more riggers.
  7. 6/9 today... 90-105 produced very well. All FF bite on riggers including 2 doubles, never moved a dipsy all day. Wonderbread spin doctor produced 5 outta 9 hits. Lots of fish, was marking all day long.
  8. We tried fishing the mouth of the black river tonight... lots of fish! But couldn't get one to take a bait. Saw a couple get landed on stickbaits but we must have used all our luck this am in the trench.
  9. 3/4 this am 2 matures and a laker... bite died after 930am. Wonderbread spinny took both kings and laker on green/white e-chip. Kings down 110 over 130 and laker down 130 over 140.
  10. We didn't get out there until after 1pm fished til 7. Decent amount of marks most tight to bottom, the king on a dipsy was a big surprise.
  11. 3/3 today 2 mature kings and a coho... king and coho on riggers down 115 over 130 both on wonder bread spin doctor. 2nd mature king on a dipsy set 95 over 140, big silver/green paddle with a meat rig (artificial). Headed back out in the am, here til Sunday.
  12. Wow, headed up tomorrow myself for the weekend... not exactly what I was hoping to hear. Anyone tried fishing in the BRB or black river itself?
  13. Only thing I can think of is he's telling us what he had his riggers set at? But lots of variables to that to figure a depth...
  14. Another vote here for Humminbird and Helix units.... you can pick up a helix 9 new in the $600 range.
  15. Helix units from Humminbird are imo the best you can get for the price... Couple things you want to ask yourself before you buy one though... do you have a trolling motor? if so what brand? Do you want side/down imaging or is screen size more important? Need GPS? Will you ever want to run multiple units? Any sonar unit will only give surface temp. For down temp/speed/depth you will need a fishawk unit with a probe. Goodluck!
  16. Was there Saturday... 90-110 fow was best for us... all FF bite.
  17. I have an old Beckman walleye net with a 4ft handle and you can't connect another handle to it. They offer 4ft, 6ft, 4-7ft, 6-9ft handles for their new nets according to the new catalog. I emailed them last week asking about purchasing one as I read on another forum about ppl buying them via email. Haven't heard anything back yet...
  18. Asked the size of the net and was told "This is too much of a hassle" and then he stopped responding to me.... Needless to say I'm still looking for a net.
