  2. That's my plan. Never stayed or fished out of Catfish before. Looks like the weather is going to be on my side. Hoping for a good weekend with the family. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. What day are you going to be there. I'm heading there Thursday night for the weekend. My plan is to fish that area, figure there should be some good staging. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. I see there is a big temperature change in the forecast for later this week in Oswego, with a north wind. How will this effect fishing/ staging? I'm still trying to understand which l type of wind stacks what kind of water. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  8. I'm heading out of Mexico Bay 8-25 for the weekend. I plan on targeting kings, but I would like to try and catch a steelie or two. Thanks for any help. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  10. Last time out my upgrade V2 link won't stay connected. I haven't had a chance to pull it apart but has anyone had a problem with the plug or receptacle? I assume the problem is with that or a connection inside. I'm not gentle on my boat but assume these units hold up to waves. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. I have a 300 and 400 I just put together. I was concerned running them not knowing a small laker was on a board or same with a diver having more drag than the laker. I've only been trolling for two years but I'm trying to hammer the learning curve. Catching fish new ways is half the fun. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. I live a few minutes from the lake and started open water fishing it last year. Ive done well with salmon. I've had limited Laker success spoons so far. One on a gambler rig with spin and glow. Only tried that once so far. Any one have luck using wire divers? I was thinking about trying mag lip on diver with gamblers on riggers. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. I haven't been out in a couple weeks. I caught two small ones with 5 colors of suffix 832. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  14. I do most of my fishing there. Spoons with purple and blue (kranx blue demon) have done well for me with the landlocks. They are making a comeback. Odd rainbow being caught also. I don't fish for bass but we messed around with a rapala flat lined while trolling 100+ftw and caught a lot of smallmouth. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  15. Thank you. Than makes sense. When that copper has a fish on or thought to have, I go right to the center of the boat or stay to the side until the board is off ? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. I set the copper out first and worked my way in but I can see if you have to let it back out while your dipsy is out. Copper seems challenging but I can see how useful it can be. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  17. I'm more concerned with the retrieval when I have a dipsy out. Seems like when I get the board off the copper could travel toward the center into the dipsy. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  18. I ran my a 300 and 400 for the first time off boards. Seemed to work well thought I had a hit but turned out to be garbage on the board. I brought it in when it got rough, started to worry about tangles. Any advice on avoiding tangles when running a rigger dipsy and board? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  19. I'm new to copper but I used an Albright and it seems to work great. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  20. I bought 2 300' spools of 60# thinking it was 45#. I wanted to run a 300 and 400 of the lighter. Anyone have experience with the heavier wire. Should I run 200, 300? I'm having trouble finding charts on 65# which makes me think it's not as useful. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. That's a piece of structure I like them to find their way to. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. I'm looking for some input on a top for my targa. Ideally I want a Bimini top that I can add side and rear curtains as need. Run the Bimini in the summer but fall and winter add the curtains to fish in the cold. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. I'm new to the fishery but I see that in the spring the kings tend to be in the west, steelies in the tribs. Come August September kings are staging. Where are they in June and July? Is there a mid summer bite on the East end? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. We didn't get any browns but decided to beat up some lakers before we headed back. Got my PB laker. 33" about 14#. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  25. Thanks for the info guys. I was only going for the plant just because I was thinking warm water discharge. I was hoping it was shallow enough. Should I just troll west from Selkirk. Or will the west wind push warm water east? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
