  1. We have a camp in speculator, last year did the Indian lake tournament and had 42 tip ups out all day with no flags. Couldn’t even get a wind trip lol
My favorite go to was Adirondack lake just out of town. Only ice fished it once, but remember watching an 8yr old boy trying to pull a 40" pike through the hole. I'm still fishing my step dads boat. Been all over up there. Usally summer vacation with half a dozen grandkids. So many 1st experiences and pics. Trying to focus on life accomplishments to get through the days. I'm sure everyone is more in touch that way. My best yrs have been beating the odds on lake O with the fat guy in a little boat. Lol. Learned so much from the folks on here. Eternally grateful.

  2. You're missing out man. Folks used to live in Idian Lake. Love it up there!

I am not a good judge as I like almost no fish.  Everything gets thrown back for another day unless it is clear it isnt going to make it.  Then into the deadwell. I have a few guys that love anything I bring back.  Never fished any of the adirondack lakes, it is certainly beautiful country.

  3. My wife was in banking for 25 yrs and had a box of sanitizer pens in the garage. They used to give them to customers. Being a cash guy with only a debit card, I spray down my cash in front of the cashier, as well as any bill change as a courtesy to them. It's that damb auto coin cup that freaks me out. " keep the change ".
I just hope there's no expiration on sanitizer.

  4. Have a peirce valve on line, it'll do for now. Thanks Gambler. Didn't mean to turn this thread into a plumbing for dummies. Be safe ,and wish all my NY fishing neighbors well. It's getting sporty now!

Install a shut off where the ice maker connects to the copper / plastic. That way if the hose leaks, **** the water off to it and live without an ice maker and water.

  5. Here's a little tail from today's events. Bear with me....wife and I have been trying to maintain protocol for 12 days now. She's a germaphobe and I have copd. Last Thurs fridge took a crap. Ordered new one from box store. 2 guys deliver today, no company protocol. Ok, disinfect everything move on. Water line not compatible, have to break protocol and go to box store. Place is packed, old folks buying mulch, younger families with kids buying paint and home improvement stuff. Usual routine. Go home, install new water line, it leaks. Back to box store, place is busier than previously. Go home, install, still leaks. Back to box store, yatti yatti. Ended up cutting of entire line on an $1800 frig. Wife is following me around with gloves and lysol. All faulty parts made in China.
Did I really need to get a new fridge, absolutely. Did I really need water and ice at this moment. No! Back to protocol, fingers crossed. I feel guilty.
Time to get serious, everyone is slowly loosing their minds, I get it.

  6. If I were still out there I would be part of the mudline haha. No I ended up bypassing the electric starter that had blown by using a rope stringer I had on the boat to manually pull start it.  Boy that first season of being a boat owner made me get to know my motor more than I ever knew I would. It was one thing after another but got everything worked out without any major catastrophes. Chomping at the bit to get out there before April
Better times to come Hornet! Hope all's well. Hoping to get out this spring once before I rebuild the Misty Harbor. She's getting scruffy in her old age. Only fitting I guess. Lol.

  7. Take you're med heavy's for pike and large mouth, you're mediums for smallies, you're ultra lights and 3-5x's for everything. That's what I do. I fish the species that presents it self. Adk is the best. You'll have to put your time in, but it sounds like that's the whole idea. It's the journey. My favorite is the 5x with popper flys for smallies. Wait till a 30" pike takes it . Lol. You're a fisherman, go fishing, the rest is gravy.
