  1. Good job Bill. What kinda boat were you running? I was in a Crestliner. I never found any water colder than 54F? Started in 120’. Had 54F water 100’ to 120’ down from 150’ out to 425’ back to 250’. Very few marks. Found some bait back in 250 but couldn’t find any fish near it. Fished 730-130 and got exactly zero (0) bites. Cycled through my best FF patterns plus a couple good spoons for good measure but it just wasn’t happening today off Hughes. Humble Pie for dinner tonight.
  2. Will be out of Hughes in the morning Weds 7/9 if anyone nearby wants to network text or call 2one6-338-34five9 The good, bad, and hopefully my ugly mug will be posted here tomorrow.
  3. Found a nice coho bite midway between Olcott and Wilson in 55fow. Green/Gold peanut fly on 00 Red dodger was best. 23 down on rigger and 20/40 back on big/small dipseys.

  4. Launching there tomorrow will keep an eye out. Old school Super Ski big board?
  5. We fished 350-420 this morning. 1 nice king 24/25lbs plus a decent steelie 8/9lbs and an immature king. Ended 3/5. Temps were up and down. We found better temps around 350 to end the day but no bites. All fish caught same spot near 415’. King took a DW UV mag wonderbread off dipsey while steelie came on Carbon14 moonshine 92 down off rigger. No meat no FF bites. Try again Tuesday. Other guys at ramp said they went all way to the border landed a couple steelies out there. We found the fleet working 350’ early afternoon when we quit. Colder water there than out in 425+. Good luck if you go.
  6. We fished 300-350 fow this evening for a couple hours but nothing doing. Wicked current headed ENE almost 1mph. Will go deeper tomorrow I guess. Weatherman says the lake should be calm?!
  7. Weather looks good for Monday Aug 28 so planning to make the trip from Ohio. Possibly fishing Tuesday Aug 29 morning, too. Is the best bite still deep/31 line? Does anyone want to network? PM me.
  8. Sounds like a good morning to me! Nice work.
  9. Fished 4-8pm today. Mostly 300-400 with 360-380 being ‘best.’ Boated 2 immatures and 1 steelie, lost another steelie. No matures. 43-44F 95-105 down 48F 95 down 54F 80 down ’Heard’ at the ramp the matures were out 700 feet. Anyone else hear similar?
  10. If anyone fishing Oswego this weekend (Aug 5 & 6) wants to network or just trade reports please contact me. My wife & I will be in town visiting her folks. We’re not in any of the tournaments so happy to share what we find out there. Mark from Akron, Ohio two16-three38-three459 smellfishone at gmail dot com
  11. Can anyone recommend or suggest a marina that offers month to month dockage anywhere between Rochester and Oswego? I’ve got a 24’ Pursuit I’d like to park somewhere in August and September. I’ve fished out of Hughes and Wrights Landing in Oswego, but not familiar with Fairhaven at all, for example. Appreciate your suggestions.
  12. Mine was reading 3.8 or 4.0 which is apparently the death knell. Called FishHawk they asked for serial then sent me a new probe in less than a week. at least you made lemonade outta lemons on the lakers
  13. Started around 7am in 150fow. Temp was way down around 110-120. It fluctuated from 42-48 at that depth between Hughes and Sodus. Started 50/50 FF & spoons. Carbon 14 moonshine on the deep rigger got the only bites (5) including a shaker and a 5 pound king. Slowly transitioned to all spoons since the Carbon14 was the only thing getting bites but nothin else doin. Fleas weren’t bad to start but got worse as we got down east closer to Sodus. Didnt mark much of anything. We fished 175 pretty hard, then out to 250 and back. Called it a whoopin around 1130am. That’s our report! A pretty sad one. I’m guessing yesterday’s hard west moved the warm water in and pushed the fish out? Hope others had better luck. Good luck if you go.
  14. 1 of 4 fish netted Weds outta Hughes had a lamprey. Back in early May almost half our fish (12-15 fish) off Niagara Bar - had lampreys on them. That was an awful high percentage I thought? The ones that come on my boat go back in 2 pieces.
  15. Launched Hughes for the first time this am. Went 4/7 with a 20lb fish. Other 3 included a small Atlantic and 2 pre-teen kings. Bites came 90-105 down over 225-250 fow. Mag Moonshine RV Blue Jeans took most bites but Carbon 14 also had a couple bites. A handful of shakers mixed in and a fair amount of fleas. Ran a couple different FF for a while but no luck on those.
