  1. Spoon: Savant Jake Froggy Fly: ATOMMIK Hammer Fly Paddle: ANY WHITE ON WHITE ECHIP As said before, will miss the other 1000's of spoons and flies on the boat. Rich
  2. With the great out come of our first LSRC last year, Jack Rosenswie, and the guys from Pro Troll and Michigan Stinger came up with a great idea for this years Challenge. They offered us a package deal for a custom Pro Troll 8" EChip Flasher packaged with a Custom Michigan Stinger, that will have a Little Salmon River Challenge Sticker on the flasher. This Flasher is not available any other way at this time. The proceeds from the sale of this package will benefit the derby and the area net pens. There will be a minimum number of these packages available, once they are gone that is it. The flasher and Spoon can be seen at Jon's Little Salmon River tackle shop. You can place an early bird order with them and you will assured to get one. At this time I am not sure what the selling price will be, but Jon will be able to let you know. Here are a couple of pics of the paddle and spoon. The paddle is a Chrome Echip blade with white crushed glow on one side and the other side is an icicle tape with 2 glow stripes. The Stinger is a Glow Icicle, it is a white blade with a white glow and a crushed glow tree down the middle, and a chrome cup. Here are the pics, and they can be seen at Jon's. Again we would like to Thank the Jack Rosenswie Company, Pro Troll, and Michigan Stinger for their time and great products. Here are the pics: Good Luck Rich
  3. Keith, Lots of nice big marks in the 70-90 area, with bait. Not sure if they are all Atlantics, but the screen looked good. LEt me know how you do. Good Luck. Rich
  4. Was able to get out for a few hours today, did not start until 945, and we were done at 130. I invited Ron J to join us for an easy few hours of fishing. We decided to head a little deeper and do some searching. We found fish in the 70-90 area, with bait mixed in. We ran a spread from the top to the bottom, with nothing for the first hour or so. I took out my go to lure from last year, the Savant Jake Froggy, put it down 51', it took the first fish of the trip, a sweet 26" Atlantic, that put on an awesome show. After the pic, it was back in and we setup again, we took another rip on the Jake again, missed it, but the fish put a heck of a show on, as it was jumping going away from the boat, assuming it was another Atlantic. Pulled the other rigger and loaded it up with another jake frog, and bang we get the first salmon aboard for the year, it was a little guy, but still better than most we heard on the radio. Was real slow from Oswego to Salmon River, so we were happy with 2 for 3 during mid day. Good Luck this weekend guys/girls, might be back out Sunday. I also have to say the Chamberlain release worked flawlessly today, love them Thanks Keith. I had the probe down 50' and still had readings with the Chamberlain attached. Rich Here is the first Atlantic to come aboard the SEADUCKTION: The first king for the year: Thanks Ron for coming out so we could run 2 extra rods, lol.
  5. Nice report Erin, glad to hear you were able to do a few on the last morning. I agree, the Chamberlains are the SH i t. I can't wait to get them down with salmon gear, won't be long now. Rich
  6. DAle, I am so surprise this boat has not sold, esp at such a low price. It has an awesome deck for fishing Lake O. Some one is going to steal a sweet ride. Good Luck. Rich
  7. There is also Jellystone campground, real good for the kids. It is about 1.5 miles from Mike's. Welcome to the river. Rich
  8. Tim, Way to go, sweet report, love the pics. Good Luck next weekend. Rich
  9. We have been using the Ande 30lb pink for many seasons now with great success. I just spooled up 2 rods with Gamma 30, will post my observations when the fleas start. But you can't go wrong with Ande. Good Luck. Rich
  10. JC, Not sure where you are hearing bad news about the Steelhead fishing, but the Salmon and Oswego Rivers have been having banner years the past couple of years. Good Luck. Rich
  11. Bob, Sorry to hear that the deck did not get bloodied, but atleast you were on the water, wish I could have gone out myself. It is tough being able to see the boat, but know you have to go home and get ready for work. It will get better, heard it was tough for most out there and that includes some of the charters that call Mexico home. Good Luck with the to do list, talk to you later. Rich
  12. After talking to Tom Manning the owner of Savant spoons, he has brought his version of the Gobie spoon to the market. After seeing what the browns, walleyes, salmon, and steelheads were eating this spring this addition will be a great addition to your tackle box. Here is a look at the 2 sizes he is offering: Jake45 size http://www.savantspoon.com/jake-gobi.html Savant size http://www.savantspoon.com/gobi.html I just recieved my spoons in the mail, can't wait to get out there and try them. Good Luck guys. Rich
  13. Pat, What are you looking to have done? Rich
  14. FH, This time of year the Black River and the bays surrounding are being fished for walleyes. If you want Browns, then you will have to head towards Stony Point and around the tip down to the sands. You can also find browns out around the islands in the shallows and around the bars off the islands. Remember, Browns love structure, as do other Salmonoids, so get a good map and look for the structure in these areas, and you will have astarting point. As was said, book a chart with one of the top guides from up there, and aks him what some of the hot areas are. I will say that the area around the lighthouse will be starting to really fire off now. Good Luck, I moved the boat fromhenderson this year, so my reports will be from Mexico and Oswego. Good Luck. Rich
  15. Rod, I am glad to see things turned out good for this weekend. Now you have the bug just like the rest of us, lol. Keep it up,I willbe intouch, way to go with the boys. The smiles say it all. Rich

  17. Way to go Glen, keep it up, wish I was out there with you. Do the east enders proud. Rich
  18. Yes he is out of Oswego, if you do a search you should be able to find his number. Way to go on the browns, the lake was flat tonight here at the plant, wish I was out there. MAybe next week. Good Luck. Rich
  19. ROd, Have you tried the Kevork a spook yet mupp rig? That rig has put a lot of fish in the boat for me out there pretty much all day on most days. I wish I was out there with you guys, will be back next year. Good Luck. Rich
  20. Nick, Sorry I have not called you, I have been going nonstop for the past week, and it is not going to slow down any time soon. We are going to Wilson this year, we will be back next year, just to much stuff going on. Was the drop of accident kind or was it a misplaced slip that just happened. I will be waiting to see your reports, I will be in touch, Good Luck. Rich
  21. Way to go Brian, congrats on the fish and a big congrats on getting the boat up and ready for this weekend, it has been a long winter. Wish I was out there with you guys, I will be there next year, no doubt. Good Luck. Rich
  22. I was finally able to get out on our boat for a few hours this am. After being on the water at 500 for the past few days I decided to head up a little later with Dad and Dave. High sun and clear water did not help, but we did manage to slime the deck, and missed 2 others. Was seeing bottom in 25', the fish came on a stinger bumble bee down 8' over 15' east of the river. Everything was working great on the boat, so it was a good shake down, now wish I would have headed up earlier. I was able to use the Chamberlain release for my rigger with the Depth Raider on it, had good readings down as far as 15', will report if I can get deeper without reterminating directly to the release. If you are heading out of Mexico, get there early, and stay away from the pack, and you should have some action. The only bird action we saw this weekend was north, and the alewives we found in the bellies of the fish were big, 4-6 inches. I had the pleasure of fishing all weekend with the owner of Chamberlain releases all weekend on the BEGINNERS LUCK. This new downrigger release is awesome, I can now do away with all my roemers and the rubber bands I used to use for the small fish and the walleyes. This release has 2 adjustments on it, and you can set it to release for as little as less than a pound, but have enough tension on the rod to put the tip to the water. We had the tip of one of our rigger rods this weekend right at the water, and we were still able to release it up top with 10lb main line, and had some small browns release at the lure. These are available at all of the east end tackle shops around Mexico and Pulaski. Here is the website, if you would like to see more info. http://www.downriggerrelease.com Rich. Here is a pic of the first fish on the boat this year. Here is a pic of a Fish Doctor Kid's stick in the rigger attached with a Chamberlain, using 10lb main line. This is the rigger that the fish came on.
  23. Gman, I have the same boat as you, and Tim, I run my reels on the inside of my rocket launcher, and run it up to the front of the hardtop, where I have a pulley that goes out to the board. I ran into the saame problem, so I moved them to the rocket launcher, and the work great, but I would run the line off the front of the top, which should put your boards even with you holders on the gunnels, or a little ahead of them. Good Luck, Rich
  24. We will not be there this year guys, but rest assured we will return next year. I have some stuff going on at work, so the time was not right. Good Luck, and I will be watching for the reports. Rich
  25. We were invited to do the shake down with Werner and Toni, of Popeye Charters. First I have to say that the hardtop on the POPEYE is AWESOME, I did not reconize the boat at first. It is a totally differant boat, with the back drop, the girls were nice and warm with the wind blowing out of the NNW. We headed out later in the afternoon, the water was real muddy, warmest temp we found was 47. We headed west a little and had one release on the Savant Jake Bumble Bee on the rigger. Bryn picked up where she left off last year on the boat, she handled her first Brown like a seasoned pro. After a little while longer it started to build so we pulled the rigs and headed for the barn. We did 2 things we wanted to do, 1: shake down, everything running great, and 2: first blood on the deck for the year. I want to Thank Toni and Werner for the invite, and we look forward to doing it again, hopefully the next time it will be a little warmer. Here are a few pics from today, with a couple of the boat. Rich
