  1. I had the pleasure of first mating for Ron Jacoby on the Begniners Luck on Sunday for the am and pm trips. We had great crews on both trips. The am found us going 6 for 12 with 4 kings, one coho and a nice 9 lb brown. We fished from 60-75 fow, all fish came on paddle flies, in green/glow, white/glow, black/glow and chrome pulling ATOMMIK flies in mirage, hammer, green crinkle, and ProAm versions. The pm trip found us in the same area, with a lot less traffic and we ended with a sweet sunset and a crew that had big smiles and sore arms. We ended up 9 for 15 with 2 fish over 27 lbs. The same colors from the morning worked, including the Mag NBK. Thanks for a great day Ron, any time you need a hand give me a shout. I took dad and a couple of his friends out on Tuesday out of Mexico. We fished the 60-85 fow area, we ended up going 3/5 with 2 kings and a 5lb steelie. The first king came on a Savant Kevorkian taped in the Rodney colors down 55 back 55. The second king came on the Green Echip with an ATTOMIK Green crinkle fly, almost doubled when the dipsey pulling a chrome echip/mirage took a rip, after pulling the rod found the treble was bit off. The steelie came on the NBK Mag 55back 55 down. I will be out on Saturday again, hopefully mother nature will play nice. Good Luck guys. Rich
  2. Thanks guys, I am very proud of my PrOAm Team in traing. LOL They did a great job, I have heard more whining out of grown men due to arms hurting than I did with my little troopers. Good Luck to all and get those kids out there. Rich
  3. Brian, Glad to see you were able to get out there and have some fun. Good Luck this weekend. Rich
  4. Well, we made the final trip out of Henderson for the year, what a way to end the year up there. Dad and I took my two little ones out and we had a great day on the water. Headed south of the light for a few miles down off Lakeview Marsh and Southwick beach. The fish were in 72-85 fow, and wanted the flies and paddles we had to offer. Started out with a double, dipsey rod fired right after I put it at 225' on a #3, with a Chrome Echip and Hammer fly, ended up with a 20lb king for my daughter. A rigger rod fires 1 minute after the dipsey fired and Dominick is into his first ever salmon at 5 years old. His fish came on a White Echip with a ATOMMIK mirage fly down 73', ended up being a nice 25 lb king. We set up shop again and about and hour later the rigger rod fires, with a Green Echip/ and a Skein Machine fly down 63', less than a minute later the dipsey fires with a Chrome/green Spin Dr with an ATOMMIK packer fly out 225'. Bryn handled her fish, a nice 24 lb hen, which was released for another day. Dominick could not handle his fish this time, so he had to hand it off to Bryn, but she was still tired from her fish. Grandpa came in a gave a hand for a few minutes before we let Bryn finish it out with a nice 25lb Buck, that was released also. We missed a third release while all this was going on, so it was almost a triple. We missed 2 more fish after that before the final fish of the day came as we were picking up. That fish also came on the Green Echip/ SkeinMachine fly. That fish ended up being the big fish of the year so far, at approx 27lbs, but not big enough for the board so after the pic it was set free. Another friend was 6 for 14 in the same area on pretty much the same rigs, except he was running meat also. Here are the pics that are on the still camera, will get some more later from the video. The first double of the day and we are off: Here is the last fish of the day, which also had a big Lamprey on it, which is now fish bait: Here is the first 2 we got in the am, the big one is Dominick's first king: Good Luck guys, I will be out of Mexico or Oswego for the rest of the year. Rich
  5. Kerch, I have heard numerous reports of kings up in Dexter already, so there has to be some fish in the bay. I am pulling the boat tomorrow to keep it on the trailer and fish down south. The trench was loaded with fish Saturday, and then I heard they were scarce Sunday evening, so they went some place. Good Luck. Rich
  6. RR, As far as I know the hockey player does not come with the boat, I am sure if you make the offer sweet enough he might let the player go with the boat. Rich
  7. Clarke, Give me a call, 315-436-8171. I will help settle it for you. Rich
  8. Well, we did not find the King for Bryn, but she got a nice laker, biggest to date for her, approx 13lbs. It was released to fight another day. Now I need to get her a salmon thi year, it has been 2 years since her last one. Good Luck. Rich
  9. Just got off the phone with Ron. His morning trip ended with 11 browns and 2 kings. Browns were in 55-68 fow down 37-48 on the riggers and out 85' on a #3 setting no ring on the dipsey. Typical brown spoons, NBK, Green Glow alewive stinger, longer leads off the riggers. The kings came in 120-140 fow down 42' on the riggers, and 120 on the wire, 3 setting no ring. 2 in the box came on the wire, white opti enticer/ little boy blue. Lost one on the rigger and a couple on a full core. Sounds like the temp is way up. Good Luck guys. He was between Scriba launch and the green building for the salmon. Rich
  10. BF, I feel your pain up there, you give a report to a buddy and the charters flock to you, but they will not give details on the radio. Some have even gone to scramblers on the radios. I will see you tomorrow. I might head a little south. Heard a report from yesterday, the finger down to the pond was all good. Rich
  11. Clarke, I agree, can't wait till next year. Looking forward to the rush of throttle down, and fish on. Rich
  12. Rod, Get yourself a church board and put the cooper out to the side. If you are running with a newbie at the wheel, anything down the chute will cause you problems. By putting the cooper out to the side that gets it away from the dipseys farther. Good Luck. Rich
  13. turp, Did you give evan a call on the Islander? Call him and talk to him, you might be surprised. Rich
  14. Nick, Nice report, glad to see Theresa with that nice chinny. No chinny's for us on Sunday. Glad to hear to had a good screen. I wish all the lakers I saw were kings. Good Luck this weekend. Rich
  15. Bill, Great report, nice pics. Hopefully things will get better real soon. They should be starting to sniff that shallow water for home port real soon. Good Luck this weekend. Rich
  16. IF you are coming out of the Harbor, go straight out of the Trench, head straight for the the cooling tower at Nine Mile Point. You will come up on top of the finger off Stony Point. the depth will come up to about 40-60 feet depending where you cross it. Keep going out, the depth will start to get deeper, then it will drop from 100 right down to 140. the fish were stacked up in there from the 100' right through down into 145'. Look for the charter boats. I might be there on Saturday if the winds allow. I have taken kings right there also. It was very hard for me to break down and target the lakers. Good Luck. Rich
  17. Chris, It was great to finally get you guys out. Sorry that we could not get the kings to go, I think Johnny lost one on the dipsey, but never saw the fish. I really did hate to have to turn to the lakers, but I had to get you guys into some fish. Here are the pics that I was able to get, no picks of the skippys, just remove hook and back in the water. The lakers are stacked up on the south side of the finger from 100' out to 140'. All of the lakers came on Cow Bell rigs, blue/silver and green silver pulling peanuts or spin'n glows right on the bottom. This was Johnny's big fish, close to 15lbs. Here is the pic of the crew back at the dock. You guys are welcome on the boat anytime. Tell Johnny to get his arse back home safely and we will do it again. I want to Thank all those in the armed forces that keep our Freedom safe. Rich
  18. Clarke, I am not sure the hours, but I can tell you that it has been used very little over the past 5 years. This is Evan Soverigns boat, I am going to say the boat has less than 400 hours on it. It is 22.5 feet long. Brad, Thank You, I did not get a chance to get it on there. Rich
  19. Jan, I will call Werner in the AM and I will post it tomorrow. Rich

I will try to answer any questions if there are any. This is the original Challenge that has started the new series in Oswego county, I have to say Thank You to Werner Stenger for helping us get these going. Good Luck guys. Rich
