  2. Chris and Glen, Congrats on the win, you guys sure do desreve it with what conditions we had this weekend. It sure is nice to see the east end boats do so well this past weekend. We ended up in 20th, but we quit early, so we might have been able to sneak a few more, but it would have done us no good with Top Gun putting up that huge box. Glad the ProAms are done and now it is on to some fun fishing with the Challenge next weekend. Congrats again. Rich

Billy, sorry I did not get to see you, there were so many people in the crowd, I will catch up with you sometime. Always nice to meet new people and put faces to names on the boards, Good Luck to all this weekend wheather you are in the ProAm or not. Rich
  14. Well, I can say that it was a pleasure to have Tom Manning and Brad Wyard from Savant spoons, Jeff Waner and Keith Greene on board for the ProAm. We had good fishing for Thursday and Friday going 8/10 in the AM on Thursday with Keith, 1/5 in 2 hours in the PM with Brad and Tom. Friday we went 10/12 with all 5 of us on board in search mode. When the weekend came we were greeted with 2-5 footers with a 6 thrown in there all day. We ended the day with 5 weighable fish and we dropped 4 fish which would have put us up there. Sunday the waves dropped but we a current that was unbelievable, we ended with 3 weighable fish with 1 short and we missed 2 fish. We ended in 31st place out of 35, which is not good, but I will take it for my first ProAm in new water. Here are a few pics of fish we took, I missed the pics for Friday, due to I was running the net and we released all fish except for 1 steelie which ingulfed a Savant Jake. Tom Manning, owner of Savant Spoons with a nice Brown. Tom with anice Steelie taken on a Jake. Brad with a nice Brown we took on Friday. Keith with a sweet Steelie that we tried to get back in, but it just would not go. Keith with a few of the kings we took on Thursday. Jeff, sorry about not getting and pics of your fish, but someone has pics of your fish, hopefully we can get them up for you. Thanks for joining us, you and Keith are welcome on the boat any time. Here is a Savant Jake which has taken over 15 kings, a couple Steelies, and browns over the past 2 weeks, and it still looks like new. We are headed to Sodus for the Wayne county ProAM this weekend, hopefully we can up our postion this weekend. I will post our hot setups when I get back. The Lake has fish all the way from Sodus to Henderson, so get out there and have fun. Rich
  15. Dan, It never gets easier, things are always changing, you have to be very versatile, and willing to try new stuff. Keep at it, it only gets better, trust me. Keep in touch. Rich
  16. Thanks guys, it was a pleasant day on the water with dad, it has been a while since just him and I have been out alone. He sure was whooped after that king. Dan, That spoon is not a glow spoon, just a painted spoon, it held up real good to both those kings, I might have to replace the hooks due to one of the hooks is slightly bent. Good Luck to all. Rich
  17. I had one yesterday just shy of the board otu of Henderson. we will be fishing from Thursday until Sunday so hopefully we will find something big enough to stick. Rich
  18. Dan, Congrats on the little one, lol at the wife keeping you in the dark. Right now there are kings off the Light house but they could move back out if the bait does not stay around. I will try to keep you posted on the conditions before you get there. Make sure you have a map of the area so you know where you are going. Let me know when it gets a little closer. Good Luck with the little one, been there done that twice. Rich
  19. Finaly was able to get out after some Sharks after hearing about a lot of people getting into them over the last week. Dad and I headed out into the trench, marked alot of bait along the pill boxes, but no active fish. There was a pack of boats off the wall so we trolled over to join in the fun. On our first pass we took a nice brown on a Watermelon with seeds Savant Jake on a free slider with the rigger set at 75'. We set back up and continued on, we saw a few fish caught, then some of the boats decided to leave and then all h-ll broke lose. We watched one boat in front of us double up, right after we passed them our Jake rod took a violent rip and I was locked into our first major of the year. After a 15 minute fight, and a little trouble at the back of the boat due to a poor net job, I was able to slide the net under a sweet 22lber. This fish just missed the board for the LOC. I set the rod back up after a couple of pics, turned around to get back on the wheel and the Jake took another violent hit. Now we are hooked into our second major in less than 2 minutes. This fish took us almost to the end of the spool, I figured I had 50 yards left before we were able to catch up to it. Dad had a good fight with this fish which ended up being a 17.5 lber on the scales. Both of these kings came on the Savant Jake in the Frog pattern pulled behind and ATOMMIK Twinkie Rig. The wind started to pick up and we headed toward the dock around 1245. The fish are there, but so are the boats. We worked the 95-120 feet area, with all the fish coming at 75 down. Good Luck to anyone the gets ut there. I pulled the boat to head down for the Oswego ProAm and will have it back in next week. Sorry for the long report. Here are a few pics from today. The brown: The first King: The second King: The Savant Jake that did the damage: Rich
  20. Where is everyone docking for the ProAm? We will be in the Oswego Marina fromThursday until Sunday morning. 24'Thompson Hardtop, if we are around come on over and say hi. Team Savant Spoons. Good Luck to all teams. Rich
  21. Al, Great report, congrats on the board fish. Nice to see the big guys showing up. Keep up the good work. Rich
  22. Nick, Well said, it is so awesome to go to a web site and post a report with pics, whether you Keep the fish or C&R and you get your head ripped off. Gotta love that, and then we wonder why people do not post pics or reports. If you don't have something nice to say then keep it to yourself. I will leave it at that. Rich
  23. Dan, From where you are staying the Trench is approx, 5-7 miles, depending which part you want to fish. If you are coming in early August you will most likely have to run out past the Trench about another 3-5 miles depending on the fish. the fish usually show up in the trench in the middle of August, there might be a few in there earlier, but this year evrything seems to be a few weeks late. I ahve taken kings in there as early as the last week in July, but that was 12 years ago. I will keep posting reports here when I get out. We keep our boat in Whites Bay. Let me know when you are coming up. The bass fishing is usually pretty good out in front of where you are staying. I like to fish them just before dark up on the ahoals with plastics or just let a minnow swim around without a sinker attached. Keep in touch. Rich
  24. Billy, Thanks for the report, nice to see the fat boys are still chowing. Can't wait till the big boys really make a presence. Thanks for the report. Rich
  25. Nick, That would be the seeds from the cotton wood trees. It covers the surface of the lake, a pain in the arse if it gets down to the lures, but not as bad as the fleas on the line. Rich
