Last year my hottest spoon was a Savant Jake in the frog pattern. I ran NK's next to it for kings and that little spoon put a whoopin on them. The stinger NBK was a strong producer later in the season. Rich

Keith, If you look down at the bottom, you will see a shortcut to your Private messages. Welcome to the site, another Mexico Bay brother. Rich

I was there earlier, but no one was there.

I would stay away if it is the 240 with a 4 cyl. I have the 4.3 and I wish we had the 350 in it. I am looking into putting a 4 blade on it to get the hole shot. The boat it self weighs around 3500- 4000, then add the gear and fuel and you are pushing 5000 - 6000, depending on equipment and fuel tank size. With the 4.3 I have got 27 mph, but have not pushed it to the max, I just want to get on plane faster with 4+ guys on the boat. Sweet fishing platform. Going to be hard to give it up if I get my License. Rich

Way to go Jeff, glad to see you had a good shake down. Nice Pics, keep them coming. Rich

Furuno 620 all the way. That is what I am running and have had since they came out. Great unit, since it was one of the first units to hit, I had a small issue in shallow water, sent it back and they reprogrammed the software, had it back in less than a week. NOt sure where you are looking to buy from, but check By Owner Electronics for the best price and free shipping. Good Luck with the new boat. Rich

Spring Kings off Oswego Harbor
Rich D replied to cwmwnw's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
Erin is right about the numbers, but remember that Oswego was smokin a couple of years ago from May right through the summer. I know the east end also took the big one in the spring last year also. Out of Oswego you will have to out of the chute and get outside about 1.5 miles or so. You will see the others looking for them also. If you keep watxhing here or the other sitews from the area, people will tell you if they got them. I will be out of mexico, ifI hear of the big boys showing up off Oswego, I will make the run. Good Luck. Rich -
That would cool if he did Erin, but he is o busy as it is, I am sure he just does not have time right now. I just talked to him the other day, after I talked to you, and that is when I asked him about the Challenge. Rich

Bill, Too Bad the " other females" in our lives were not that easy to get going. Opps did I say that. lmao Rich

Clarke, Yup that is the site, I have bought my last 2 pieces of electronincs through him, and he is awesome. Like Bill said, if you find it cheaper he will meet the price, plus free shipping over $400.00. As an added note, he is also a sponsor for the Little Salmon River Challenge. Great guy, if he does not know the answer to a question,(which I doubt will happen) he will get it for you. Good Luck, what are you looking for? Rich

Rick, Not this year, we are going to stay in the new port for this spring. I was watching the weather for the past couple of months and thinking it might be like last year. So we are going to hold off this year withour boat, I might come out for a day or two with some friends. I am going to miss it, but I will survive. I will wait to see your reports. Rich

Installed the Depth Raider last week, hoping to start on the engine stuff, and praying mother nature will play nice and melt the snow in fron tof the barn door. I have to replace the rigger cable for the DR, then the waxing will start. Come on spring. Rich

Niagara River 3/29
Rich D replied to Diversion's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Adam, Sweet report, glad to see you are having some fun out there. Won't be long for the big silvers to show up. Good Luck. Rich -
I agree with Scott on this, as far as too deep, no way. I have retro eases ppn the riggers and have no problems. I feel better fishing in this boat then many bigger boats I have been on due to the depth of the gunnels. Pm has been sent, good luck. Rich

3/15 Brownie Fun
Rich D replied to Yankee Troller's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Way to go Rick, nice brownies, any news on the boat? Come on spring. Thanks for the report. Rich -
Accudepth 47lc loaded with 900' of wire, used very little, was one of my backup rigs. Excellant condition. This is the old style, asking 45.00 plus shipping. Pm me if you are interested, I am located in CNY. Rich

John, I would go with the color unit from Furuno, the FCV 620 or the 585. I have the 620, and it is an awesome unit. I am seeing things on the color unit that were invisible on the monochrome. I am not sure what price range you are looking at, but the 620 is under $800 with the transom mount triducer. Just my 2 cents, Good Luck, here is the site that myself and a few others have bought from and Jim is great. With free shipping on electronics over 400. He will also meet any advertised price. http://www.byownerelectronics.com/store ... p?cat=2596 Rich

Open launches eastern Lake O?
Rich D replied to USMC130FE's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Pat, Thanks for the heads up on Mexico, I figured the launch would have been iced in, or at least plowed in with all the snow. I put the new electric winch on the trailer today, can't wait for the first splash down. Come on spring. Rich -

Steve, Sodus Bay was open at the Coast Guard Station last weekend. I am not sure about Wright's Landing, but that should open soon if Mother Nature plays nice! Rich -
Sold pending payment. Thanks Bob.
