I went through this debate last year. Don't put a plate on and weaken your cavitation plate. Save the money buy a kicker or use bags and/or buckets in the meantime.

Check swap sheets , ebay etc..... I just bought two brand new in the box Scotty 1116's from a guy local for 750. Thats no tax also. Good deal. Shop around. There is a guy in cortland ith 2 mag 10's with swivel bases in good condition for 500 for the pair. Just shop around, they are all good.

OK, I need to buy a kicker. I dont need an electric start but I want it for the alternator. Is that a good idea? Ive been searching around for leftovers and such. Its going to be for a 17 ft LUND. Is 9.9 or 8 recomended? Also what can anyone tell me about the Tohatsu motors? I know they are nissans with different stickers. Would you go with one? A new 20 inch shaft with electric start, tiller model can be purchased for 1899 delivered. Is that a good deal? I would buy an older leftover if the price was right. The best prices have been in Delaware where there is no state sales tax but I'm not sure if it's worth the drive. All ideas and input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, The Landshark

im looking for a kicker motor guys. 4 stroke anywhere from 8 high thrust to a straight 15 horse. Id like a newer model 2003+. It must be a 20ich long shaft. tiller is fine, manual start is fine. I was wondering if any of you have one you might be considering parting with or Are there any marinas you might suggest that might have a leftover model? The best prices im coming up with are a 4-5 hr drive to delaware. I can pick up the 9.9 yamaha for about 1900 there. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

well considering I spent most of last week fishing open water for walleye I would say I won. lol I went down to NJ and fished the Delaware river. Check it out on www.ardentangler.org The guide is a buddy of mine so he invited me down to hang for a few days. Check out the photos page. We didnt catch a walleye under 3lbs and up to 10 lbs. Nice fish. Great time, we ran 18 miles one way everyday to the hole we fished. He has a jet boat an its the only way to get up the river for there are many spots any other boat would be opened like a can opener. We saw a bunch of eagles everyday also, nice bonus.

Hey Bob, Ive had this unit on my boat for over a year and I love it. Humminbird has come along way since being bought out by Johnson. I bought my unit brand new of ebay for 800. Its the 937Cdf. Which is just the dual frequency trancducer model. If you ave any questions on the unit at all give me a shout. I hop to see you on the water again this year. Landshark

I honestly really dont know where it was caught. That was the info that was in my email when it was sent to me. However it is a monster and it is possible to net a fish like this that doesnt want to let go of a meal.

I had a problem with Minn Kota. In a nut shell here was the probelm. I bought a new 65 pd this summer with co-pilot. It had less than 20hrs on it and it took a ^%$#. I took it to the nearest service center for warranty repair. That is Boats Unlimited in Utica. They had it for 36 days yesterday without giving me one phone call to let me know the status of the motor or at least letting me know when it might be. Well , i finally boiled over and contacted MinnKota themselves. The. man from MinnKota called me today and said he wasnt able to reach Boats Unlimited either so he is sending me a brand new motor from the company. I thought that was pretty good of him. I just thought I would update you all on what went on with that deal. I wasnt even mad about the motor failing, things happen. But, that is way too long to have it sitting somewhere for repair without a phone call. Im dont think MK is real pleased with BU being an ASC (authorized service center)
