  1. Ya know what they say...it's not the size it's how you use it Can't wait for St. Cats
  2. Wow! I hope something is set in stone one way or another pretty soon.
  3. Thanks guys! This helps me out. I still don't know what to get though
  4. Guys, I'm looking for some help on deciding what I want for motors in a new boat. I'm looking at walk around style boats in the 26'-27' range. I don't really know too much about out o/b motors. The boats I have been looking at are in the 02-05 range. One of the boats has a merc 350 mag Mpi, and the other has twin 200hp 2 stroke yamahas with 100 hrs on them. I know we all love our I/o motors, but it seems a majority of manufactures are going with the o/b motors in this class boat. What are the pros and cons with the o/b motors. Four strokes would be nice, but the boats with the 4 strokes are out of my budget in that size. Thanks
  5. She has sold! Thanks to those interested.
  6. Up for sale is a 1987 267 Quest. The boat is 27' and comes on a Yacht Club trailer. The boat is powered by a 260 hp 350 Mercruiser and Alpha I outdrive. I am selling the boat either ready to fish with equipment on it, or just the boat and trailer. The boat is serviced regularly and has recently had the carb rebuilt and outrive bearings replaced. It has also recently had gimble bearing, bellows and u joints replaced. It ready to fish or cruise. It cruises at 26mph. It also has oversized trim tabs, washdown pump, radio, and multiple live wells. The equipment: 2-Scotty 1116 Propacks downriggers 2-Scotty Manaul downriggers 2-Triple Titetlok rodholders 2-Big Jon planner reels Fish Hawk X4 new this year Lowrance Lcx-25 Color finder/gps Marine radio, safety gear, bumpers, ropes This boat makes a great tournament boat as it is both trailerable and has some size. It can be towed with a half ton pickup. Boat, trailer and gear $8500 Boat and Trailer $7000
  7. All I was saying Rod is that two amature divisions will water it down. If no observer is an issue, address it. Two days of the open is exactly the same cost of the old am. The argument of not being able to catch 6 fish is weak at best. When we started the pro ams, we couldn't catch 6 fish regularly either. If all you ever do is catch three and head in you will never catch more fish. The compition will help you become better fishermen. If guys want the option to try a tournament out, let teams fish one day in one tournament to see if they like it for a reduced fee. Have a prize or two for the best one day team.
  8. I'm all for the rules of 8-10 yrs ago. No communication on both ends, pros and ams, Friday, Saturday, ect...no open! Whatever they are, we need to know for vacation purposes prior to the start of the year. Having to plan vacations and other things around a tournament in which the format and the rules are unknown is very frustrating and unfair. Had vacations and time off from work not been scheduled prior to this years format and rule changes, my participation may have not occurred. Take the uncertainty out of the tournament. As far as eliminating tournaments, Sodus should be far from the top of the list as it has been seeing the second highest turnout for the past couple years and is very fun and popular place.
  9. Guys, The Genesse Brewing Company has stepped up in a big way and has donated $500 cash to the event this weekend and is also suppling beverages for the adults! http://www.geneseebeer.com/ Beikirch's Gun Shop in East Rochester has also jumped on board and has donated a Nikon Prostaff 3 Laser Rangefinder for the tournament. http://www.beikirchs.com/ Genesse, Beikirch's, and the rest of all the sponsors are coming through huge for this weekend. Its going to be great!
  10. 4 for us. All XL. I know this would be more work, but may be sponsors listed on the back
  11. We need an observer for the prom if anyone is interested. Shoot me a pm if interested. Thanks
  12. Two teams went past port bay Saturday. One of them was on their way back towards Oswego at 830 without their fish. Sodus was far from the place to be on Saturday. Its always the same complaints. Ask some of the top finishers how expensive and high tech their boats are. They would laugh.
  13. You can sign up via the website. Just click on the open division box.
  14. If its your copper power pro, it's the angle of the sway back that keeps it clean. If it was a rigger you are very lucky. I've tried in the past while fishing deep and the buildup was horrible.
  15. It was good out there this morning nick. Managed 6 before our first chummed and had to head in at 8. O well
  16. Nick, Looks like this will work out. You could count me in for two. I could do three if needed but it may be crowded depending on the circumstances.
  17. This is a nice fishing boat and a great tournament boat. Good size, speed, and on a trailer for a reasonable price. This is the exact boat we fish from and ours takes everything the lake throws at it. No problem fishing five guys and 8 rods off it. Good luck with her.
  18. Bears put a hurting on the fawns. I have heard numbers as high as 50 percent of fawn kill comes from bears in areas of normal bear density. I hunt south of bath and hornell and there are no shortages of bear.
  19. Hey burning daylight...sent you a pm. Nice job on the finish Dave. Love the new boat!
