  1. Black, Green, Clear,Spider web Black....
  2. I just clip them on to the rigger swivel and clip the ball or prob to them and adjust the tension screw so a moderate pull will spring the "bail" up. This tension is a bit dependant on how deep and what you are pulling behind it. Easy set up and just takes a bit of learning curve.
  3. Wednesday nigth was sweet. Just east of the bay in front of the east end of Oklahoma 70-75FOW was loaded with lake trout on the bottom.....wrong!!!! Kings on the bottom. Did three in an hour by myself and one small brown. All the salmon were very fiesty! rigger at 5 -10 off the bottom. Marked a __itload offish on the bottom an saw my first "rolling" salmon on the surface. Tonight was a different story....One skipper and marked a fair amount of bait and a few fish most was east of the river....explored bay to river 50-80 fow..... Best of luck to both Derby and non Derby fisherman this weekend.....
  4. Beat ourselves up motoring over to Braddocks this morning. Our guest got more than a bit quezy which made for a short day. Fished 100 -160 for a couple hours and took one skipper. Made the desision to put the waves at our back for better ride for Brendan. Well we got to 220 FOW a bit east of Braddocks and the screen started to look pretty good. Did 3 salmon out 210 and 270 and hed a couple more rips that we lost before pulling the plug at a bit after 11. Lake looked to be laying down on our way in. Fish only hitting the wires today... no skippper was on the rigger at 90 on NK Glow frog. Wire were A- TOM-MIK 42 spin docs and 42 second fly and Green Glow/ Garbage Can dodger pulling an A-TOM-MIK Crazy ****. Most of the time our riggers down 110 were still in 70 degree water until we went deeper water and then got to a fridged 56!!! Sure hope temps start coming up again as it really bothers me seeing cables at 30-45 degree angles!!!
  5. none... but a half abag of sunflower seeds! you on wallys or on the big pond? welcome to come up this way if you like.....
  6. Fished with my son just back from skiing in Chile. We went out of the bay and headed to 60 fow off Shipbuilders. Trolled north and mearked bait and fish out to 110 fow. Only did one brown but it was a nice one. Came on a free slider down about 35. Glow frog NK mag. Best of luck to all in the Derby or otherwise!
  7. Fished for a few hours mid - day of rochester trolled from 160 to 340 orth of the river. Had two rips off rigger down 130 and 90. Had 71 down 90 and 47 down 120. Only marked fish and bait in the 300-330 range. Wires were quiet out 240 and 300.
  8. George brings up a good point about a slow troll. Consistantly we have caught our biggest salmon by setting down two cowbells and peanut just off the bottom for lakers in 90-160 FOW and run at that slow speed with two meat rigs or dodger/flasher fly rigs up higher for slob solitary kings cruising for food. This works great at fall derby time. Not a lot of salmon but many lakers (some very large!) and the salmon are generally bigger than the ones in a group.
  9. We run 30# Ande line and have minimal problem with fleas and it holds up well as far as UV, abrasion and the inherent breakage that can cause. We add 8-10 feet of Seagur flouro leader (line) usually 15 or 17# test. Bruce
  10. Fished from 100 FOW to 480 working NW out of the Bay. 3 small kings down 85 on NBK and green noname spoon. Three decent (4-8#) steelies also 85 down on NK28 Dolhn w/Tape. All fish were taken in 200ish FOW. Kings east end of troll and steels on west end (almost to Russel). Marked no bait pods at all. Ended day around noon. Going to fish Canandaigua in the am..
  11. My fishing partner just had a change of plans for the 4rth and I have an open seat or two if any one is interested.... Derby participation prefered! Leaving out of I-bay.... Let me know tonight. Bruce evening phone 385-3451
  12. Thanks for the info... They must have just put up the pics. I had emailed Dreamweaver asking for info and got no response???? Guess I will see weather I can get a few from Sharon.
  13. fished from 8:30 to noon 100fow to 225 fow. marked no fish caught the same. 54 on top and 47 down 25 43 down 50. talked to people fishing off oak orchard and was told they were having a slow day as well.
  14. Nice! Great report! Good to hear the wire divers going.... hoped to get out yesterday PM but you know how it goes sometimes...
  15. You might want to check Cabellas and Offshore Angler online stores for easier pricing.
  16. steelie dan? anyone know what it is? picture?
  17. Take a look at latest Great Lakes Angler issue. Good diagram of maxed out spread. Makes me nervous about tangles just looking at it!
  18. We are an older Trophy hardtop. We are most often on channel 8 or should I say not as often as I wish!
  19. Ran west to the stacks and set up in 80 foot and worked out to 179 and back and forth. Fished till noon or so. Did two nice steelies down 25 one on a new stinger Stacey had picked out, kind of brown/orange/black similar to chicken wing colors but holo. style spoon . The other on Billy V's spoon, habenero. Had two good rips on our new leadcore out 5 colors with a mag stinger watermelon. Guess we need to figure out how to get solid hookups on that. Forgot the darn eggs and sausage to go with the coffee and Bloodie's... oh well. Bruce
  20. aw shucks.... I was just trying to keep y'all away from mine and mark's honey hole..... seriously, i'm glad to hear it worked out.... we are head out at o'dark thirty if we get home before then, stacey picked out some new spoons to try out and he usually pick good'uns....hear you on 08... we will be the ones with bloody mary's in one hand and rod in the other.... bruce aka Throbbin Rod
  21. Got out late this aafternon and scooted out to 130'. Saw some pretty good marks out there but had gone over a 2 degree temp break on the way out and thought i would troll back to it. Nothing until I got back into 84 FOW. and did a couple browns down 35 and twenty back on black and silver spoons. Did not mark any fish until 42-35 FOW where the picture looked pretty darn good. Fish close to bottom and down 20ish. No bait all night. Big hooks out where i first set up... should have stayed but was hoping to find some steel. Bruce aka Throbbin Rod
  22. Well got a "late" start, 8:30. We worked fom 4 FOW to 170 FOW from the bay to Hedges and back and forth and in and out.... and had three knock offs. Most of our best lures no longer are dusty. Must be because I had forgotten the beer or having a new guy on the boat. Saw two bait pods all day 48 FOW in front of Shipbuilders. Not much chatter on the radio nor did we see many boats. Nice ride though. Bruce aka "Throbbin Rod"
  23. Put the boat back in the water after a little maintenance task. Fished from 7:30 - 8:00ish. Was alone as I had planned on "just putting the boat back in the water honey". Any way set up in 50 FOW and shortly had the first king of the season. Took a slider on the 45 rigger in 56 FOW. Spoon was a "blue whale" 28 size. Just over 14#. Water temp on top was 48.6 0r so. Did not mark many fish or bait but was only out a little while and a fair amount of that was setting up and catching the fish. Got empty seats in the am if anyone is interested. Need derby registration. Bruce aka "Throbbin Rod"
  24. Well here we are at spring LOC derby time again. Good luck to all! Have Fun! Be safe! And please be courteous to your fellow anglers! See some of you out there.... Bruce aka "Throbbin Rod"
