  1. First day on the water since May.... started in clear cold water 120.... moved out to 500+ and things started... had 45 down 35 and set riggers at 35 and 40 and soon found hungry salmon. Any spoon with gold was the ticket for me today. Ran fixed cheaters up 7'. Best bite was in 600 range. have not been in 600 since we were keeping our boat at 4C's at the Oak. Takes a fair bit more time to get to 600 here!!! Good to get into fish again...
  2. Hoping maybe someone has found a solution for this... I have a 1997 LUND 1700 Pro Sport with a 1996 115 HP Mercury Outboard... It's has a Quicksilver 3000 Classic shift control that has failed. This is no longer made and I am hoping someone has upgraded to newer Mercury controller and Gen II cables. If anyone has i=I would appreciate knowing which parts you used and if you are happy with the results. Thank you in advance... Bruce

  4. Fished 120-130 just east of outlet. Lots of fish in that range on the bottom and 20 feet up not a cooperative bunch but did get a nice 23 pound salmon on an atomic Twinkie rig behind green and black polkadot spin Dr down 100. Did manage to lose my fishhawk probe I was able to secure a new one with the help of Richard (Yankee Troller) at KRENZER Marine…thank you sir!

  5. Fished this morning 7- 11 Started with spoons on riggers and one diver in about 70 and trolled out to 230 without a nibble. Then having switched to spin doctor and fly one rigger and the diver fishing both in the 80-90 range boated 5 kings in about 35 minutes. Four on spinners and skip on mag Carbon 14. One skip and 4 between 8 and 19#. kept two and called it a day. Lake was dead flat all morning.

  7. Hi, I am interested and up in Port Bay… Would you consider selling two of them at 300 each? Bruce 585-721-3451
  8. Short trip this morning in search of Browns… not to be had, but did net my first Atlantic of the season. Took a spoon in the propwash ten back three down. A number of boats out did not see a lot of nets moving…
  9. Fished out of Hughs Marina today with my son and a work friend of his, Peter, and his son Shaun. Left the house late and got to the Marina about 8 only to have a motor that did not want to start (tested later at my shop - bad cell). The owner Norm came over and was key in getting us going and out fishing. Could not get browns going and wanted to get the kid a few fish and chase the skunk off the boat so went out to 115 to 125 and found a bunch of Lakers to put a smile on the kids face. In closing I want to say that Norm and the other folks at Hughs remind me of our years at Oak Orchard.... great people and a real sense of community!!!
  10. Ditto from Port Bay

  17. Port Bay Decent spin doctor bite this afternoon. 3 for 4 in the first hour all on 400 copper. Lost 2 on rigger carbon 14 parked 90/130. Have not been on the lake much as perch and bass have been so cooperative so this is good day!

  19. Second Hank at Port Bay! Probably very busy with winterizing boats given the time of year but he's the one many of us trust!
  20. Like many of our Lake Ontario captains Joe knows how to catch them! He is a fun guy to fish with and was a huge help to my son and I when we first started fishing the lake back when he was out of IBay. Quality guy! Bruce
  21. Hi all, My Doctor at Wilmot tells me that even small contributions can make a difference as they can use dollars they get this way as "seed" money for larger grants or donations. The price of 2 mag mixed veggies can mean even more dollars to them! Thanks again, Bruce
  22. We've most likely all been touched in some way by cancer, some more than others! I hope you all might consider supporting this fund raising effort to help those being treated for cancer and those doing research to find new treatments and hopefully cures in the future. My apologies to those that may not want this sort of thing posted here! Please make checks payable to either Wilmot Cancer Institute or Pluta Cancer Foundation and mail to me at: Bruce Bolger 191 S.
