  1. Spending time with my family usually consists of swimming, canoeing, camping, and many times fishing. I spend a lot of time helping friends and family also. Try to hunt a little otherwise I'm painting houses , or keeping the lawn mowed, or the snow removed in the winter. I have spent a lot of my time fishing instead of cooking this past year Mick
  2. No problem Chinook. I know many people were waiting for the news. The river water was in the 40's today.
  3. There are only the 2 with the 2 foot booms, and 1 of the 4 footers left with 1 swivel base, and cannon balls for all 3. $200 takes all 3. Fort any further info please call 585-682-3099 Thank you
  4. Just letting everyone know. They went in this morning on both sides of the river. There was only 1 dock on the West side, but everything is in on the East side. - Mick
  5. Had a great time though Mark. I just heard that Pointe Breeze had the same ice this morning. Guess we should have taken the ice breaker East, then at least we would have had an easier ride home. We'll get em next time. As always it was better than couch fishing . - Mick
  6. I don't believe any markers are put in at all. From Wileys to the lake you will have no problem to the lake as long as you stay in the main channel. It's usually 15-20 feet deep. From Wileys upstream there are definate areas that get real shallow fast if your not carefull. Downstream to the lake just don't get too close to the west side of the river, as it does get shallower. That side is usually choked up with weeds, anyways.
  7. I didn't think they would do it with the weather but was told people showed up from all over so they did them on Saturday anyways.I guess they had a great turnout and got them done pretty quick. I believe Olcott's pen construction is this Saturday for anyone who would like to lend a hand and couldn't last Saturday.
  8. No launch docks at either as of Today- Wed. They did put some of the transient docks in on the East side , which may help a little. Captains Cove has a launch further down river for a fee. Very muddy water out there right now. Dock status could change by the weekend with some more decent weather the next few days. I'm sure I'll head that way on Friday, and report back.
  9. Hope you had a good one Gambler.Late happy B-day
  10. I'm posting this for a friend of mine. There are 4 riggers with the 4 foot booms and 2 with the 2 foot booms. I was told there are some swivel bases and balls that go with them. I believe he wants to get $500 for them all. I don't know anything more than that so for any interest/ further questions please call 585-682-3099. These are located in the Pointe Breeze area. Thank You
  11. You gotta love the Y's and T's on that Atlantic. I haven't seen one in quite a few years now. Way to go again guys.
  12. Good job guys . That paint job looks like the old Creek Chub Pikie color. Send the cohos our way if you could.
  13. Way to go guys. That wind was cold coming off the lake Sunday.
  14. Thanks for posting the info for us Captain Songin. - Mick
  15. Thank's Uncle Bill. This is a great site with a lot of great people on it. Make sure you post in the new members section and meet some good people. We will get out there soon. - Nephew Mick
  16. Holy Cow. Way to go guys. Waves look a little bigger down east there. - Mick
  17. Chinook. I have no problem giving honest reports of waves, wind, temps, and conditions if I can make it out there. As temps rise ( air and water) I'm sure we'll see more reports and action out there. It's only a matter of time. - Mick
  18. Thank's . We had a good day for sure. let me know when you get back. - Mick
  19. Hey Carl. My boat's been in since Tuesday and finally got our first brown this morning. See you out there soon. - Mick
  20. Went out this morning 3/21 with my wife and son. West wind early and barely a ripple on the water. Water temp was only 35-36 degrees in the west bay so we headed east. Found the better colored and 37 to almost 40 degree water in the east bay and finally hooked up with our first lake fish of the year. After the rigger went off 120 back 4 down with a 3f evil eye chartruse/silver/green I set the rod in the middle holder and let my son have at it. He did a great job of keeping the line tight and that was our end result. I was glad he braved the cold(although it was warmer out there from 8-9 before the wind switched north) to land the first fish for the year. Well the brownie went back in for someone to catch another day. We only saw 2 other smaller boats out there. After that we perch fished for a while in the river and ended up with a few keepers, and more dinks, all on smaller shiners. It won't be long before things get going now. We just need some warmer water. Good luck everyone- Mick
  21. Water was 40 degrees in the river today. I won't be going out again until Saturday. I've launched out of Golden Hill in the past. I think they put the docks in somewhere around the first week in April also. You also are a little protected from the point with the lighthouse if there is a west wind there. Good Luck
  22. I keep my boat at the North for the season (East Side) , and the 1 side of the ramp is open of debris and I was able to put the boat in the water Myself only since I could leave it at the North's Docks and then move my truck/trailer. The docks on the East side usually don't go in untill April. It is the same story on the West side ramps off of Archbald road (Where I Grew Up). i will definately give updates on the dock situation as I live in Lyntucky as you do, but I am down at the Oak pretty frequentely. Try and call 4 c's Marina or Lake Breeze Marina and ask if you could use their ramp, if you truly need a dock? Daily highs should be near 40 or above so lets hope it starts happening. I probably jumped the gun a little early, but I couldn't take it any longer after being cooped up all winter with limited open water on the local streams. Thank God for Ice Fishing to get me through. - Mick
  23. Your favorite beer, flour, favorite seasonings, and a little baking powder is what I do. Oil must be at least 350. Too hot and it will burn it quick. Any fish battered will not be as crispy unless eaten ASAP after frying. Like everyone else said Breaded fish is always crispy and will stay so longer. I've probably fried over 100 thousand pounds of fish in my lifetime (so far). - Mick
